Based on the theory of “restraining excessiveness to acquire harmony,”,, a viewpoint of “using homeopathy according to rehabilitation mechanism”for the treatment of primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) was proposed. It was believed that the “self-stabilization function of rehabilitation mechanism” of the body itself was the significant force to effectively contain and even eliminate the “harm of excessive disorder” of ITP, and medical intervention should follow the therapeutic principle of “going with the flow and helping its strength”. “Going with the flow” was to directly help the self-stability function of the body by inheriting “self-stabilization function of rehabilitation mechanism”, and the main method was to “regulate qi and blood, reconcile blood and vessels”. “Helping its force” was to indirectly help the self-stability function of the body by inheriting “self-stabilization function of rehabilitation mechanism”, and the main method was to “symptomatic treatment and annihilating reinforcements”.
