Electroencephalogram (EEG) is a non-invasive technology to explore brain functional activities. Microstate is a relatively stable EEG topological map in a certain period of time. Different microstates of EEG are the results of different clustering activities of neurons, representing the consistent activation in the whole brain functional network at the sub-second level. This paper briefly introduces the concept of EEG microstate and its general analysis process and steps. It is proposed that EEG microstate analysis can, on the one hand, serve as an entry point for the study of the mechanism of acupuncture action and its acupoint specificity; on the other hand, through the conversion between microstate time series and electrical signals, the microstates closely related to the therapeutic effect of acupuncture can be converted into electrical stimulation signals, thus proposing an optimal pathway for the selection of feedback therapy stimulation parameters to facilitate the transformation research of acupuncture.
