A proven case of Professor Xue Zheng’s treatment of jaundice after congenital biliary atresia by warming yang, activating spleen and removing dampness was introduced. According to the medical record, the child had congenital endowment deficiency, and suffered from dampness obstruction due to dysfunction of spleen in transportation and transformation. The mixture of root vacuity and branch repletion resulted in jaundice. The dark, dull and yellow skin indicated the case belonged to yin jaundice, while abdominal distension and loose stool indicated cold syndrome. Professor Xue adopted the method of warming yang, activating spleen, removing dampness and jaundice to strengthen healthy qi and eliminate pathogenic factors, and achieved satisfactory therapeutic effects.
