Objective:To observe the effect of electroacupuncture combined with auricular acupressure on sleep quality and life quality of perimenopausal women with insomnia. MethodA total of 60 participants were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group, with 30 participants in each group. Patients in the control group were prescribed Estazolam tablets while patients in the treatment group were treated with electroacupuncture combined with auricular acupressure. The treatment course was 28 days in both groups. The clinical efficacy was observed. The changes of Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) score and perimenopausal life quality inventory (MENQOL) score were compared. Safety was evaluated. Results:①The overall effective rate was 93.3% in the treatment group and 73.3% in the control group; and the clinical efficacy in the treatment group was superior to that in the control group (P<0.05). ②The PSQI total score and sub-scores decreased compared to those before treatment in the treatment group (P<0.05), and PSQI total score, sleep time sub-score, sleep duration time sub-score, sleep efficiency sub-score decreased compared to those before treatment in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, PSQI total score, sleep quality sub-score, sleep disturbance sub-score and daytime function sub-score of the treatment group were significantly lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). ③MENQOL score decreased significantly in both groups after treatment compared to that before treatment (P<0.05), and MENQOL score of the treatment group was lower than that of the control group after treatment (P<0.05). ④There was no obvious adverse reaction in both groups. Conclusion:Electroacupuncture combined with auricular acupressure achieved satisfactory results in the treatment of perimenopausal insomnia. It is worthy of clinical promotion and application as it can effectively improve the sleep quality and life quality with good safety.
