According to the relevant clauses in the “nineteen items of pathogenesis ” of Huangdi Neijing,“all sudden muscular spasm and rigidity are ascribed to wind”, “all vertigo and shaking due to wind are ascribed to the liver”, “all spasms and neck rigidity are ascribed to dampness”, “all dampness syndromes with swelling and fullness are ascribed to the spleen”, “all thin, clear and watery discharges are ascribed to cold”, and “all cold with contraction is ascribed to the kidney”. This article analyzes the relationship between these clauses and the clinical symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. It is recognized that the pathogenesis theory of “liver wind, spleen dampness, and kidney cold” should be fully considered to improve the clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine on Parkinson’s disease.
