The recent research progress on the regulation of signaling pathways of prostatic carcinoma by traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is reviewed in this paper.Traditional Chinese medicine can regulate and control many signal pathways of prostatic carcinoma. Classified according to its mechanism of action, itmainly includes the regulation of Notch signal pathways of prostatic carcinoma (such as emodin, curcumin, ginsenoside Rh2, isoorientin, etc.), the regulation of phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3K)/AKT signaling pathway in prostatic carcinoma (such as matrine, baicalein, icariin, sarcandra glabra, Qianliexiaozheng Decoction, Chinese medicine compound CFF-1, etc.), the regulation of secretory glycoprotein (Wnt)/ β-catenin signaling pathway in prostatic carcinoma (such as Qianlixiaozheng Decoction, Quercetin, etc.), the regulation of transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β)/Smads signaling pathway in prostatic carcinoma (such as forsythia triterpenes, curcumin, etc.), and the regulation of nuclear transcription factor (NF-κB) signaling pathway in prostatic carcinoma (such as tripterine, oridonin, curcumin, etc.). These regulations can block the cell cycle of prostatic carcinoma, inhibit cell proliferation, enhance chemosensitivity, inhibit cell migration, cloning and invasion, induce cell apoptosis, and thus play a corresponding therapeutic role.
