Based on the analysis of modern evolution rule of the “later-decocting method” of Artemisiae Annuae Herba, combined with the research progress of ancient and modern literature and modern composition, it is considered that the “later-decocting method” neglects the important efficacy of “clearing up deficiency heat” of Artemisiae Annuae Herba, and conflicts with many clinical uses in ancient and modern times. The “later-decocting method” of Artemisiae Annuae Herba should correspond to its different efficacy and application purpose, rather than uniform regulation.
