This paper introduces the clinical experience of treating knee osteoarthritis with insect drugs in the department of Shi’s Traumatology. Knee osteoarthritis is a chronic disease, which is often treated based on qi-blood-phlegm -stasis theory in Shi’s Traumatology and in combination with the use of insect drugs for dredging meridians and activating collaterals, resolving phlegm and removing blood stasis . The insect drugs such as Jiangcan(Bombyx Batryticatus), Tubiechong(Eupolyphaga Seu Steleophaga), Dilong(Lumbricus), Wugong(Scolopendra) have the function of stopping pathogenic wind and resolving phlegm, activating collaterals and relieving pain, removing toxic materials and dispersing nodules, and with their migratory nature, the treatment effect of those drugs is relatively quick. And one proven case is presented.
