Objective:To explore the effects of Bushen Gubiao Granules on serum interleukin-2 (IL-2), interferon-γ (IFN-γ) and tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α), NK cell activity and splenic lymphocyte proliferation in hypoimmune mice. MethodsSixty male ICR mice were randomly assigned into 6 groups:blank control group, model group, Yupingfeng group, and high-, medium- and low-dose Bushen Gubiao Granules groups. Except the blank control group, mice in the other groups were injected cyclophosphamide 50 mg·kg-1·d-1 intraperitoneally for 3 days to establish an animal model of immunosuppression. Corresponding drug was given by gavage to each group for 28 days. Splenic lymphocyte proliferation was detected by MTT colorimetry; the killing activity of NK cells was determined using LDH method; and the serum levels of IL-2 and IFN-γ were measured by ELISA. Results:Compared with the model group, Bushen Gubiao Granules could enhance the proliferation of splenic lymphocytes in immunosuppressed mice (P<0.05), increase the killing rate of these cells (P<0.001), and significantly increase the serum levels of IL-2, IFN-γ and TNF-α (P<0.01). Conclusion:Bushen Gubiao Granules can enhance the transformation and killing ability of splenic lymphocytes, and increase the serum levels of IL-2, IFN-γ and TNF-α in immunocompromised mice, thereby improving the immune function of the body.
