The discussions on perinatal depression in obstetrics and gynecology of TCM are scattered in pregnancy and postpartum diseases due to depression syndrome. The pathogenesis includes qi, blood, phlegm and blood stasis, involving heart, liver, spleen, kidney and other organs. Clearing this disease can not only help to determine the strategy and prescription medication based on relieving depression, more importantly, but also promote to establish the concept of preventive treatment of disease.
