Based on the proven cases, this paper analyzes Professor Jiang Jian’s clinical experience in treating exfoliative cheilitis. It is considered that the pathogenesis of exfoliative cheilitis is exogenous wind-dryness-heat-toxin and internal dampness-heat in spleen and stomach. Chinese medicines by oral administration combined with external application are made good used to treat exfoliative cheilitis. The commonly used drugs include wind-heat dispersing medicine, heat-clearing and detoxicating (dampness-drying) medicine, spleen-activating and dampness-resolving medicine, yin-tonifying and dryness-moistening medicine.
