Objective:To observe the immune regulatory effects of astragaloside IV on spleen derived Th1 and Th2 cells in ovalbumin(OVA)induced asthmatic mice. MethodsThe OVA-induced mouse asthma model was established. The spleen mononuclear cells were isolated and cultured and intervened by astragaloside IV at different concentrations. The expression levels of cytokines including IFN-γ,IL-4 and IL-13 in the supernatant of cell culture medium were detected by enzyme linked immune sorbent assay (ELISA),and the percentage of IFN-γ,IL-4 and IL-13 within mononuclear cells were detected by flow cytomentry.  Results:Astragaloside IV at the concentrations of 25,50 and 100 mg/L showed certain inhibitory effects on the cytokines(IFN-γ,IL-4 and IL-13)secreted by Th cell subsets in OVA-induced asthmatic mice(P<0.05).  Conclusion:Astragaloside IV shows the inhibitory effects on OVA-induced Th2 cell response,and its immune regulation effects may be associated with the inhibition on Th1 and Th2 cells.
