This paper introduces Professor Shi Qi’s clinical experience in the treatment of lumber intervertebral disc herniation. He proposes the therapy of promoting blood circulation for removing blood stasis and obstruction in collaterals in initial stage,therapy of benefiting qi for removing blood stasis in middle stage and therapy of invigorating liver and kidney in advanced stage. It is considered that the treatment of lumber intervertebral disc herniation should pay attention to dimensional thinking analysis,which include not only the oral administration but also the external application of Chinese medicine. It could combine with the therapy of ear acpoints pressure,three steps and nine methods of waist manipulation,twelve-word health maintenance exercise and sacral canal block.
