Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with foot reflex region bloodletting in the treatment of primary trigeminal neuralgia. MethodsSixty patients of primary trigeminal neuralgia were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group,30 cases in each group. The treatment group was treated with acupuncture combined with bloodletting therapy in foot reflex region, and the control group was orally treated with carbamazepine. The treatment course in both groups was 30 days with follow-up for 3 months. The clinical efficacy and recurrence rate were observed, and the change on visual analogue scale(VAS)score was compared. Results:①The clinical total effective rates were 80.00% in the treatment group and 73.33% in the control group. The clinical efficacy of the treatment group was obviously better than that of the control group(P<0.05). ②After treatment, there was statistically significant difference on VAS score between the two groups, and the VAS score of the treatment group was obviously lower than that of the control group(P<0.05). ③There was statistically significant difference on the recurrence rate between the two groups, and the recurrence rate of the treatment group was obviously lower than that of the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:Acupuncture combined with foot reflex region bloodletting shows better efficacy in the treatment of primary trigeminal neuralgia, which can significantly alleviate the facial pain of patients with lower recurrence rate.
