Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Huoxue Qianyang Qutan Recipe in treating obese patients with hypertension and the intervention effects on left ventricular remodeling. Methods90 obese patients with hypertension and left ventricular remodeling were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group,45 cases in each group. The control group was treated with the original therapy of western medicine and health education,and the treatment group was additionally treated with Huoxue Qianyang Qutan Recipe based on the treatment for the control group,with a course of 3 months. The indexes of body shape,blood pressure in consulting room,ambulatory blood pressure,TCM syndrome score,indicators of glucose and lipid metabolism and indexes of cardiac structure were observed and compared.  Results:①Until the end of trial,a total of 82 cases completed the whole trial,among 40 cases in the treatment group(5 cases fell off)and 42 cases in the control group(3 cases fell off).The total expulsion rate was 8.9%. ②After treatment,there were statistically significant differences on the levels of body weight,waistline and body mass index(BMI)between the two groups,and the improvement on body obesity in the treatment group was significantly better than that in the control group(P<0.05). ③After treatment,there were statistically significant differences on the systolic and diastolic blood pressure in consulting room between the two groups,and the hypotensive effects of the treatment group were more significant than those of the control group(P<0.05). ④After treatment,there were statistically significant differences on the 24 h mean systolic pressure and night mean systolic pressure between the two groups(P<0.05). ⑤After treatment,there was statistically significant difference on TCM syndrome score between the two groups,and the TCM syndrome score of the treatment group was obviously lower than that of the control group(P<0.05). ⑥After treatment,there were statistically significant differences on the levels of total cholesterol,triacylglycerol,low density lipoprotein,fasting insulin and insulin resistance index between the two groups,and the levels of the treatment group were obviously lower than those of the control group(P<0.05). ⑦After treatment,there were statistically significant differences on the levels of interventricular septal thickness(IVST),left ventricular mass(LVM)and left ventricular mass index(LVMI)between the two groups,and the levels of the treatment group were obviously decreased compared with the control group(P<0.05).  Conclusion:Huoxue Qianyang Qutan Recipe can obviously improve the obese condition and glucose and lipid metabolism of obese patients with hypertension,which further improve the blood pressure on the basis of original antihypertensive program and also improve the left ventricular remodeling in a certain extent.
