Objective:To observe the effects of five phases music of Chinese medicine on cancer pain and quality of life in middle and advanced cancer patients. Methods100 cancer patients with cancer pain were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group,50 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with basic therapy of western medicine. Additionally,the treatment group was treated with therapy of five phases music of Chinese medicine and the control group was treated with therapy of western natural music,with a course of 30 days. The score changes of numeric rating scales(NRS),quality of life questionnaire for cancer patients(QLQ-C30)and Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status(ECOG-PS)scale were observed and compared.  Results:①After treatment,there were statistically significant differences on the NRS score grades between the two groups,and the relief of pain symptoms in the treatment group was obviously better than that in the control group(P<0.05). ②For the comparison between the two groups after treatment,the differences on the score of overall health condition and the scores of all symptom items,all single items and all function items in QLQ-C30 were statistically significant,the improvement on life quality in the treatment group was obviously better than that in the control group(P<0.05). ③After treatment,there were statistically significant differences on the ECOG-PS scores between the two groups,the improvement on performance status in the treatment group was obviously better than that in the control group(P<0.05).  Conclusion:The therapy of five phases music of Chinese medicine can significantly improve the quality of life of cancer patients,reduce their cancer pain sense and enhance the performance status.
