This paper compared the different views of directional reinforcing and reducing by straight pushing on five meridians in textbooks with different versions and related medical books,and analyzed the relationship between the school inheritance and it. Combined with the clinical trials which have been carried out and the theory of reinforcing and reducing by puncturing along and against the direction of meridians respectively,for the spleen,liver,heart and lung meridian,it considers that “Reinforcing method is straight pushing on finger pulps towards the finger root,and reducing method is straight pushing on finger pulps towards the finger tips”；for the kidney meridian,“Reducing method is straight pushing on finger pulps towards the finger root,and reinforcing method is straight pushing on finger pulps towards the finger tips”.
