Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Compound ZijingXiaoshang Cataplasm combined with glucosamine sulfate capsules in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis(KOA). Methods109 patients with early KOA were randomly divided into the observation group (55 cases) and control group (54 cases). The control group was orally treated with glucosamine sulfate capsules, and the observation group was treated with Compound ZijingXiaoshang Cataplasm for external application based on the treatment for the control group, with a course of 4 weeks. The clinical efficacy was observed, and the Lysholm knee jointfunction score,Japan Orthopaedic Association (JOA) score and visual analogue scale (VAS) score in both groups were compared before and after treatment. Results:①The clinical total effective rate was 94.55% in the observation group and 81.48% in the control group. The overall clinical efficacy in the observation group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05). ②After treatment, the Lysholm score and JOA score in the observation group were increased compared with treatment before(P<0.05),the VAS score was decreased compared with treatment before(P<0.05). The Lysholm score and JOA score in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05),and the VAS score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:CompoundZijingXiaoshang Cataplasm can help to relieve the clinical symptoms and improve the knee joint function of patients with KOA.
