Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Kangfuxin Liquid in the treatment of chronic periodontitis. Methods A total of 168 patients with chronic periodontitis were randomly divided into the observation group and control group, 84 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine therapy(such as anti-infection)and chlorhexidine gargle, and the observation group was treated with routine therapy and Kangfuxin Liquid for gargle, with a course of 4 weeks. The clinical efficacy, probing depth, plaque index and gingival bleeding index, loss of periordontal attachment and tooth mobility during follow-up, and levels of inflammatory factors were observed in the two groups before and after treatment.  Results: ①The total effective rate was 96.4% in the observation group and 76.2% in the control group, the efficacy in the observation group was better than that in the control group (P<0.05). ②After treatment, the paradental probing depth, plaque index and gingival bleeding index were significantly decreased in both groups compared with treatment before (P<0.05), and the indexes in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). ③In follow-up survey, the loss of periordontal attachment and tooth mobility were reduced in both groups compared with treatment before (P<0.05), with more significant reduction in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05). ④After treatment, the levels of hs-CRP, TNF-α, IL-8 and IL-10 were obviously improved in both groups compared with treatment before (P<0.05), with more significant improvement in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05).  Conclusion: Kangfuxin Liquid combined with routine therapy can relieve the clinical symptoms and improve the levels of inflammatory factors in the treatment of chronic periodontitis.
