Objective:To study the inhibitory effects of Yupingfeng Powder on thymic stromal lymphopoietin(TSLP)secreted in airway epithelial cells of asthma model mice. Methods Forty BALB/c mice were randomly divided into the blank control group, OVA model group, Yupingfeng Powder treatment group and dexamethasone treatment group. Corresponding interventions were taken in each group. The level of TSLP in lung homogenate was detected by ELISA, the mRNA expression of TSLP in lung tissue was determined by quantitative real-time PCR, and the expression of TSLP in lung was determined by immunohistochemistry. Results: The level of TSLP in lung homogenate of OVA-induced asthma model mice was not increased compared with the control group,and there was no statistically significant difference on the level of TSLP in lung homogenate among groups(P>0.05). The levels of interleukin-13(IL-13) and interleukin-17(IL-17) in the asthma model group were significantly increased compared with the control group,and Yupingfeng Powder and dexamethasone treatment could significantly reduce the levels of IL-13 and IL-17(P<0.05,P<0.01). The TSLP mRNA expression in the asthma model group was up-regulated compared with the control group(P<0.05). Yupingfeng Powder and dexamethasone treatment showed no inhibitory effects on the TSLP level and TSLP mRNA expression(P>0.05). Conclusion: Yupingfeng Powder can decrease the levels of IL-13 and IL-17 in lung of asthma model mice,but shows no inhibitory effects on the expression of TSLP.
