Objective:To observe the effect of modified Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Decoction in the prevention and treatment of peripheral neurotoxicity induced by oxaliplatin. Methods68 cases of colorectal cancer and gastric cancer who received chemotherapy of improved FOLFOX plan were randomly divided into the control group and the treatment group,34 cases in each group. The control group was treated with chemotherapy plus mecobalamin tablets and the treatment group was treated with chemotherapy plus modified Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Decoction. After 4 cycles of chemotherapy,the occurrence of peripheral neurotoxicity and the changes of T lymphocyte subsets(CD3,+,、CD4,+,、CD4,+,/CD8,+,)were evaluated. Results:① In the treatment group,there were 6 cases of peripheral neurotoxicity in class I,3 cases in classⅡ,one case in class Ⅲ and no cases in class Ⅳ,the total incidence rate was 29.4%. In the control group,there were 11 cases of peripheral neurotoxicity in class I,5 cases in classⅡ,2 cases in class Ⅲ and no cases in class Ⅳ,the total incidence rate was 52.9%. Comparison of the total incidence rate between groups,the rate of the treatment group was obviously lower than that of the control group(P,<,0.05). ②Comparison of treatment before and after within group,there was no significant change in lymphocyte subsets in the treatment group,the levels of CD3,+,CD4,+,CD4,+,/CD8,+, were significantly decreased in the control group with statistical differences(P,<,0.05);after treatment,there were statistically significant differences on the levels of CD3,+,CD4,+,CD4,+,/CD8,+, between the two groups(P,<,0.05). Conclusion:Modified Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Decoction can effectively reduce the peripheral neurotoxicity induced by oxaliplatin,and improve the cellular immune function of patients.
