Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture combined with western medicine in the treatment of mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome in children. Methods56 children patients were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group,28 cases in each group. Patients in the control group were treated with conventional western medicine, patients in the treatment group were treated with acupuncture combined with conventional western medicine, with a course of 3 months. The clinical efficacy in both groups were observed and the changes of apnea hyponea index(AHI)and night lowest oxygen saturation(SaO,2,)before and after treatment were compared. Results:The total effective rate was 89.2% in the treatment group and 53.5% in the control group;the clinical effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group(P,<,0.01). After treatment, the AHI in both groups were decreased compared with treatment before(P,<,0.01),and the AHI in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group(P,<,0.05);the night lowest SaO,2, in both groups were increased compared with treatment before(P,<,0.01),and the night lowest SaO,2, in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group(P,<,0.05). Conclusion:Acupuncture combined with western medicine can improve the sleep state of children patients with mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome.
