This paper introduced the application of Xiaochaihu Decoction in the treatment of common cold including the therapeutic method,experience,pediatric usage,typical cases and matters needing attention and so on. The main contents described as Xiaochaihu Decoction classic prescription,treating cold with original Xiaochaihu Decoction,treating fever and body cold combined with Cassia Twig(Guizhi),treating dry cough without phlegm combined with Rhizoma Zingiberis(Ganjiang)and Schisandra Chinensis(Wuweizi),treating cough with sputum or tonsillitis combined with Platycodon Grandiflorum(Jiegeng)and Forsythia(Lianqiao),treating body pain combined with Cassia Twig(Guizhi)and Radix Paeoniae Alba(Baishao),treating body weakness and spontaneous sweating after cold combined with Astragalus(Huangqi) and Angelica(Danggui),treating anorexia after cold combined with dried orange peel(Chenpi),hawthorn(Shanzha)and Malt(Maiya), as well as the choice of prescription and pieces,the identification of similar syndrome and treatment stop.
