This paper introduced professor Chu Lixi’s experience in the treatment of delayed union of fracture. He considered the pathogenesis of this disease as asthenia in origin and pathogenic factors in superficiality. The asthenia in origin was caused by blood stasis and stagnation after trauma,the pathogenic factors in superficiality was due to insufficiency of liver-kidney and deficiency of qi-blood. The therapeutic principles emphasized the balance of whole and part treatment,integration of internal and external treatment,equality of ligament and bone treatment,complementation of static and dynamic treatment. In medication,he made good use of medicine compatibility of eliminating the pathogenic factors in superficiality and nourishing the asthenia in origin. One proven case was presented.
