Vertigo diseases were put forward in Inner Canon of Huangdi. The understandings of vertigo from ancient physicians were of different emphasis. Combined with the clinical experience for many years and the theory of “all wind with vertigo and shaking is ascribed to liver”,“dizziness must be caused by phlegm”,“dizziness must be due to deficiency”,professor Chen Chonggao put forward the theory of “dizziness must be induced by stasis”. The prescription medication emphasized the combination of treatment based on liver,phlegm,deficiency and stasis,which obtained good curative effect.
