This paper introduced the clinical experience of Qu Xiaolu in differentiation and treatment of diabetic nephropathy. She considered the deficiency of qi and yin as the pathogenic factors and the blood stasis and phlegm as the symptom. This disease presented asthenia in origin and excess in superficiality,and she proposed that the therapy of supplementing qi and nourishing yin,activating blood circulation to dissipate blood stasis and eliminating turbidity should be throughout the whole treatment. Based on the method of yin and yang interaction which advocated by physician Zhang Jingyue in Ming dynasty and the formula of Zuogui Piu,prescription named ShenqiⅠwas developed to supplement qi and activat blood circulation,nourish yin and tonify kidney.
