Objective:To observe the clinical effect of wet-hot compress of traditional Chinese medicine combined with exercise therapy in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis with wind-cold obstruction. Methods90 subjects were randomly divided into the wet-hot compress group,exercise group and combination group,30 in each group. Each group was received the corresponding treatment,with a course of one month. The scores of pain,stiffness and daily function were observed and compared. Results:Compared with treatment before,the pain,stiffness,difficulty of daily activities and total score were significantly decreased in each group after treatment(P<0.05). After treatment,the differences on these index scores(except the difficulty of daily activities in the exercise group)between the combination group and other two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05);there were no statistically significant differences on these index scores between the wet-hot compress group and exercise group(P>0.05). Conclusion:The therapy of wet-hot compress of traditional Chinese medicine combined with exercise can significantly alleviate clinical symptoms of knee osteoarthritis with wind-cold obstruction.
