This paper reviewed the research progress on pharmacological effects and mechanism of Timosaponin AⅢ. Timosaponin AⅢ was one of the major active components from RhizomaAnemarrhenae. Studies showed that it had a wide range of pharmacological effects such as improvement of learning and memory deficits,inhibition of platelet aggregation and blood vessel expansion,anti-tumor,hypoglycemic effect,anti-hypertension,anti-inflammation,anti-oxidation,anti-radiation,anti-virus and antifungal activity.
