Objective:To observe the clinical effect of electro-acupuncture based on syndrome differentiation of Yin and Yang in treating stroke patients with hemiplegia in community. MethodsAccording to the multi-center stratified block randomization,120 stroke patients with hemiplegia were divided into the treatment and control groups,60 in each group. The control group was treated with routine rehabilitation therapy,the treatment group was treated with electro-acupuncture based on syndrome differentiation of Yin and Yang on the basis of treatment for control group, with a course of 8 weeks. The changes of simplified Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA), modified Barthel Index(BI) and modified Rankin Scales (mRS) were observed and compared.  Results:①Finally 112 patients completed the trail with 56 in each group, 8 cases fell off. ② After treatment, there was statistically significant difference on the level of FMA between the two groups,which suggested that the effect of the treatment group on improving the motor function was obviously better than that of the control group(P<0.05).③After treatment, there was statistically significant difference on the level of BI between the two groups,which suggested that the effect of the treatment group on improving the activities of daily living was obviously better than that of the control group(P<0.05). ④After treatment, there was statistically significant difference on the level of mRS between the two groups,which suggested that the effect of the treatment group on improving the dysfunction was obviously better than that of the control group(P<0.05).  Conclusion:Electro-acupuncture based on syndrome differentiation of Yin and Yang shows good effect in treating stroke patients with hemiplegia in community,which is worthy of popularization and application in community.
