This article reviewed the experimental research progress on traditional Chinese medicine in the diagnose and treatment of precancerous lesions of chronic atrophic gastritis based on toxin in recent years. Considering toxin as important factor of precancerous lesions of chronic atrophic gastritis(CAG),detoxification is important therapy for the block or even reverse precancerous lesions of CAG. The experimental research progress on traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of precancerous lesions of CAG based on toxin were analyzed and summarized from the following aspects:intervention on injury repair of gastric mucosal, regulation of gastrointestinal hormones, effect on free radical metabolism and cancer gene expression, regulation of cell proliferation and apoptosis.
