Objective:To observe the effects of antihyperosteogeny decoction in the treatment of cervical spondylosis with heat syndrome. Methods 60 cases of outpatients with cervical spondylosis (damp-heat syndrome) were divided into treatment group and control group,30 outpatients at each group. Outpatients in treatment group were given anti-hyperosteogeny decoction, while outpatients in control group were given anti-hyperosteogeny capsule,with a course of 4 weeks. Clinical efficacy was observed, and the changes of pain visual analogue scale (VAS) and cervical spine dysfunction index (NDI) were compared.  Results: ①The clinical total effective rate was 86.67% in the treatment group and 53.33% in the control group respectively,which difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). ②There were significant differences in the level of NDI and VAS within each group before and after treatment (P<0.05). After treatment, the level of VAS and NDI in the treatment group decreased more significantly than the control group (P<0.05).  Conclusion: Antihyperosteogeny decoction could be used for the treatment of cervical spondylosis with heat syndrome,which significantly improve the neck pain and dysfunction in patients.
