Objective:To investigate the effects of modified “Simiao Decoction” on renal function, lipid metabolism, urine biochemistry and renal pathology in rats of uric acid nephropathy. Methods Uric acid nephropathy rats were made with Yeast and Adenine, and then randomized into normal group(ZC group), model group(MX group), allopurinol group(XY group) and treatment group(SMF group), and respectively treated with according therapies. The renal function(BUN, Scr, UA), lipids(TC, TG, HDL, LDL), urine biochemistry(NAG, β,2,-MG, 24-hour urine protein) and renal pathological changes were observed. Results: ①Compared with ZC group, the levels of BUN, Scr, UA, TC, TG, HDL, LDL, NAG, β,2,-MG and 24-hour urine protein were significantly higher in MX group(P,<,0.01). ②Compared with MX group, the levels of BUN, Scr, TC, LDL, NAG, β,2,-MG and 24-hour urine protein were significantly lower in SMF group(P,<,0.01); the level of UA was significantly reduced in XY group(P,<,0.01); while the levels of Scr, TC, TG and HDL was of no significance in XY group(P,>,0.05). ③Renal pathological changes showed that renal tubular urate crystals, inflammatory cell infiltration and tubular interstitial injury were less in SMF group and MX group, with strikingly less lesion in the SMF group than in the MX group(P,<,0.05). Conclusion:s Modified “Simiao Decoction” can improve renal function, lipid metabolism, urine biochemistry and renal pathology in rats of uric acid nephropathy.
