Objective:To observe the effects of ironing treatment at “Zusanli” on the intestinal function in senile patients with colorectal cancer after laparotomy. Methods72 senile patients over 65 years old were randomly assigned to iron-treated group (36 cases) and control group (36 cases), “Iron Sticking” and Placebo Sticking was treated respectively, with course of 3 days. The time of bowel sound recovery and the first aerofluxus and dejection were recorded. The fasting venous blood samples were gathered before and 3 days after surgeries, testing IL-2, IL-6, NK cells, CD4,+,/CD8,+, ratio and so on. Results:①The time of bowel sound recovery and the first aerofluxus and dejection in iron-treated group was shorter than that of control group after treatment (P,<,0.01). ②The IL-2, CD4,+,/CD8,+, levels of iron-treated group increased than before (P,<,0.01), and IL-6 level decreased than before (P,<,0.01); and there was significance in levels of IL-6 and CD4,+,/CD8,+, between the two groups (P,<,0.01). Conclusion:Iron treatment at bilateral “Zusanli” could accelerate the restitution of borborygmi in postoperative senile patients with colorectal cancer after laparotomy, promote the anal discharge, its mechanism may be association with regulating inflammatory factors and immune function.
