This paper introduces professor Zhang’s experience in treating the throat disease. Professor Zhang identifies this disease as five types which include external evil invasion, phlegm-qi knot, yin deficiency of lung and kidney, spleen-stomach overheat, and deficiency-fire flaming upward due to spleen deficiency. The main treatment methods for throat diseases are provided as disparsing wind and clearing heat, removing toxin and easing the throat, regulating qi and relieving depression, resolving phlegm and easing the throat, nourishing yin-fluid and moistening dryness, clearing heat toxin, easing the throat to reduce swelling, invigorating spleen and replenishing qi, clearing fire to ease the throat. These are flexibly combined and applied with syndromes.
