To illuminate the diagnosis, classification and theuapeutic strategies of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) proposed by Professor Yu Jin,this paper explained her exploration on the pathogenesis of PCOS with different viewpoints of “Kidney deficiency and phlegm” (in Traditional Chinese medicine, TCM), hyperandrogenitism being the main reason (in Modern medicine, MM) and both factors being the same cut-point for dysregulation of the female life network (in the fusion or the integration of TCM and MM). Professor Yu innovatively set up the diagnosis of “small follicle syndrome (anovulatory mense disorder and PCO, without hyperandrogenitism)”. She treated the two syndromes with the combination of psychological-biological-socieological strategies. The treatment for PCOS is mainly to cutdown the hyperandrogenitism and recover the normal ovarian axis, while for “small follicle syndrome” being to improve the lowered ovarian function.
