Objective:To observe and assess the efficacy of mild moxibustion of Zi Wu Liu Zhu Time Rule(ZWLZ) combined with umbilical therapy in preventing gastrointestinal reactions caused by cancer chemotherapy. Methods120 gastrointestinal tract tumor patients with chemotherapy was selected and randomly divided into experimental group and control group,60 cases in each group. During chemotherapy period,conventional acid suppression and anti-nausea treatment were used in both groups,the mild moxibustion and dressing umbilicus of drug base on select time were used in the experimental group,and the conventional treatment time were used in control group. The effective rate of gastrointestinal reaction and severity of symptom in two groups was observed and compared.  Results:The incidence of untoward effect of gastric area in experimental and control group were respectively 51.7% and 80.0% in chemotherapeutic period and the untoward effect of gastric area in experimental group were significantly lower than that of control group(P<0.05).  Conclusion:The therapy of mild moxibustion of Zi Wu Liu Zhu Time Rule combined with umbilical therapy is effective in preventing gastrointestinal reactions caused by cancer chemotherapy. It can significantly reduce the incidence of nausea,vomiting and poor appetite after chemotherapy.
