This article introduces Prof. Shi Qi’s experience in differentiating and treating osteonecrosis of femoral head. It is believed that disturbance of qi and blood and phlegm-accumulation stasis are the etiology and pathogenesis. The therapeutic principles include regulating qi and activating blood, viscera syndrome differentiation, treating musculo-skeletal diseases, complementation of static and dynamic, reinforcing the healthy qi and dispelling the pathogenic factors; focus on inner and outer, regulating the balance. The treatment by stages, complementation of static and dynamic, combination of Chinese and western medicine and holistic therapy are advocated in clinic.
