This article tries to make a brief overview on the research and clinical application of Xuanfu medicine theory from the concept,function and essence of Xuanfu,the closed pathology and open treatment of Xuanfu and the practical meaning of Xuanfu theory by collecting ancient books and modern articles. Xuanfu medicine theory is a unique part of traditional Chinese medicine. Xuanfu medicine theory makes our understanding of the structure of body according to the T.C.M theory to a deeper level and plays a significant role in the guiding the diagnosis of many miscellaneous diseases in clinical practice.
