Objective:To investigate the occurrence and TCM syndrome characteristics of hearing impairment in patients with type 2 diabetes Methods:100 hospitalized patients with type 2 diabetes were examined both ears by pure tone hearing test and classified with syndrome differentiation. Hearing impairment detection rate, damage degree and distribution of TCM syndrome were investigated Results:① Hearing impairment detection rate was 53.0%, and 79.25% of patients were with mild hearing loss, severe hearing damage were not found. The average age and damage degree of hearing impairment are higher than the normal people(P<0.05) . Hearing impairment detection rate of patients ≥60 years was 72.3%. ② 81.8% type 2 diabetic patients with Liver and Kidney deficiency syndrome in this study occurred hearing impairment Conclusion:Patients with type 2 diabetes are more likely to develop hearing impairment. The major TCM syndrome of hearing impaired patients with type 2 diabetes is Liver and Kidney deficiency.
