Objective:To investigate the influence of “Laifu Chengqi Decoction” on gastrointestinal function in rats after subtotal gastrectomy Methods:Thirty SD rats were randomized into model group, treatment group and sham group, ten rats in each group. Twenty-four hours after subtotal gastrectomy, treatment group was treated with “Laifu Chengqi Decoction”(5 g/kg), sham group and model group with the same volume of saline(10 ml/kg), with a course of 21 days. The amount of food intake, body weight, and the levels of urine D-xylose and serum leptin were observed Results:①Compared with the model group, the amount of food intake and body weight were increased in the treatment group and sham group(P<0.05). ②Compared with the model group, the levels of urine D-xylose were increased and the levels of serum leptin were reduced in the treatment group and sham group(P<0.05) Conclusion:“Laifu Chengqi Decoction” can promote the restoration of gastrointestinal function after subtotal gastrectomy by increasing gastrointestinal absorption and decreasing serum leptin.
