This paper introduces Prof. Shi’s clinical experience with dysmenorrheal. It is argued that dysmenorrheal can be divided into two types of primary dysmenorrheal and secondary dysmenorrheal. The former one can be seen in liver depression pattern and should be treated with modified “Tongjing Decoction”; the later one can be seen in cold stagnation and blood stasis pattern, which can be treated with modified “Xingui Zhitong Formula”. One proven case is presented respectively.
