Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of “Shugan Bushen Formula” and bromocriptine for the treatment of hyperprolactinemia of liver depression and spleen deficiency pattern  Methods:Sixty cases with hyperprolactinemia of liver depression and spleen deficiency pattern were randomized into western medicine group and combination group, with 30 cases in each group. Western medicine group was treated with western medicine and combination group was treated with “Shugan Bushen Formula” and bromocriptine, with the course of 3 months. The TCM symptoms and PRL levels were observed  Results:The total effective rate was 90.0% in the combination group and 73.3% in the western medicine group, TCM symptoms of the combination group was superior to that of the western medicine group (P<0.05). After treatment, the TCM symptoms and serum PRL levels of the combination group were decreased markedly (P<0.05); In the western medicine group, the PRL levels was decreased markedly, but improvement of TCM symptoms was not markedly (P>0.05); TCM symptoms score and PRL levels of the combination group were superior to that of the western medicine group (P<0.05)  Conclusion:Combined “Shugan Bushen Formula” and bromocriptine can reduce PRL level and improve clinical symptoms and has positive effects on hyperprolactinemia.
