摘要:This paper details the characteristics of five rhythms in a woman's life (circadian rhythm, weekly rhythm, monthly rhythm, annual rhythm and life cycle rhythm), and discusses Professor Xia Guicheng's clinical experiences in treating gynecological diseases based on the female reproductive rhythm theory. The circadian rhythm serves as the basic unit of life rhythms, where daytime activity invigorates yang qi and nighttime rest nourishes yin blood, adhering to fundamental health preservation principles. The number seven is considered the Shaoyan number in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), with a typical menstrual period lasting around seven days. When yin is sufficiently abundant, "Jinsi Dai" (brocade-like vaginal discharge) can last up to seven days, which further aids in conception. Menstrual cycles align with lunar rhythms and tide, and Professor Xia's classical four-phase menstrual cycle theory has been expanded to a seven-phase model to more accurately reflect the changes in yin and yang, thereby providing better clinical guidance. A proven case is included for illustration.

摘要:ObjectiveTo systematically review clinical research literature on the combination of acupuncture and medicines for the treatment of asthma, and discuss its potential clinical advantages and acupoint selection rules based on data mining.MethodsClinical researchs from the past 20 years were retrieved from databases, including China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), WanFang Data, Chinese Scientific Journal Database (VIP), SinoMed, PubMed, Web of science, Embase, and Scoups. A “Database on Treating Asthma with Combination of Acupuncture and Medicines” was established, with frequency statistics and tools like SPSS Modeler 18.0 and Gephi 0.10.1 used for data analysis.Results①The advantage of acupuncture primarily lay in the regulation of target organ functions and multiple blood biochemical indicators (such as immune function indicators and serum inflammatory factors); the advantage of Chinese medicines was their ability to further enhance pulmonary ventilation functions; the combined use of acupuncture and Chinese medicines could significantly improve the clinical efficacy in asthma patients. ②The top five acupoints in the importance ranking for treating asthma with acupuncture were Feishu (BL13), Dingchuan (CV22), Zusanli (ST36), Shenshu (BL23), and Danzhong (CV17). Association rule analysis showed that the highest support was for Dingchuan (CV22)-Feishu (BL13), followed by Pishu (BL20)-Feishu (BL13), and the Bladder Meridian of Foot Taiyang and the Lung Meridian of Hand Taiyin were the most commonly used meridians. ③The acupoint prescriptions that can demonstrate the advantages of acupuncture emphasized local point selection, meridian-based point selection, and upper and lower points coordination.ConclusionsThe combination of acupuncture and medicines for asthma treatment is a major factor in improving therapeutic efficacy. Its clinical advantage lies in balancing both local and holistic aspects. The clinical practice of treating both symptoms and root causes, focusing on the lungs, selecting local points, and combining distant and nearby points reflects one of the advantages of acupuncture. This article provides a new insight into the scientific application of the combination of acupuncture and medicines.

摘要:The pathogenesis of sequelae of facial palsy and acupuncture-moxibustion treatment strategies are discussed based on the "Xuanfu-Luomai" theory. It posits that the basic pathogenesis of the sequelae of facial palsy involves the obstruction of Xuanfu (mysterious orifices), stagnation of qi and blood, and blockage of Luomai (collaterals). The treatment should focus on Kaixuan Tongluo (opening Xuanfu, removing stasis, and unblocking the collaterals). Specific acupuncture and moxibustion treatment methods include cupping, plum-blossom needle tapping, wrist acupuncture with bilateral trans-point needling, fine fire needle collateral-puncturing and bloodletting, Fuzheng Tongluo needling, Tongyuan needling, grain-sized moxibustion, heat-sensitive moxibustion, and thread embedding acupuncture. When Xuanfu and Luomai are unobstructed, and qi and blood are harmonized, the disease can naturally resolve.

摘要:The research progress of Changpu Yujin Decoction in the treatment of nervous system diseases is reviewed. Changpu Yujin Decoction originated from the book of Science of Epidemic Febrile Disease. It has the functions of clearing the heart, cooling the blood and eliminating phlegm, calming the wind, stopping spasm and calming the nerves. Modern pharmacological experiments have proved that it has the functions of repairing the nervous function, antagonizing the hyperfunction of the dopamine system, regulating the permeability of the blood-brain barrier, and reducing the resistance of cells. In the prevention and treatment of viral encephalitis, multiple tourette's disease, ischemic stroke, brain edema and other neurological diseases, the clinical effect is remarkable.

摘要:This paper discusses the principal pathological mechanisms targeted by Shengyang Sanhuo Decoction and the compatibility features of the wind medicines within the formula based on Xuanfu theory. By integrating the concept of "Tong" from Xuanfu theory with the properties of wind medicines, it comprehensively discusses the action mechanisms of wind medicines in five key aspects: dispersing Xuanfu to ascend yang, dredging Xuanfu to facilitate smooth movement, opening Xuanfu to remove stagnation, relieving Xuanfu to dissipate fire, and regulating Xuanfu to store qi. The aim is to deepen the understanding of Li Dongyuan's concept and provide theoretical insights for clinical practice.

摘要:This paper discusses the application mode of classical prescription based on TCM time medicine. The time rhythm of traditional Chinese medicine is varied and flexible. Therefore, we need to combine the patient's constitution and disease characteristics to select the most suitable time medicine idea, accurately identify the pathogenesis. Under the guidance of TCM time medicine, we should guide the use of classical prescription according to the appropriate drug situation of climate change, according to the theory of five evolutive phases and six climatic factors, time of six meridian diseases to be resolved, the theory of meridian flow, and the specific time rhythm, so as to restore and regulate the dynamic balance of yin and yang in the human body.

摘要:Qi, blood and fluids are fundamental substances vital for human life activities, nourishing the body when circulating normally but becoming toxins when stagnation occurs in pathological states. Abdominal syndromes are critical indicators in the progression of diseases. Fukusho‑Kiran (The Complete Medical Book Focusing on Abdominal Palpation) is a seminal work within the Japanese Shanghan (cold damage) school's tradition of abdominal diagnosis, covering extensive knowledge to enhance the integration of abdominal syndromes with Jingfang (classic formulas). Based on the theory of qi, blood and fluids, the analysis of various abdominal syndromes in Fukusho‑Kirans reveals that those affecting the chest, flank, and abdomen predominantly involve qi toxins and fluid toxins, while syndromes in the lower abdomen are more often associated with blood toxins and fluid toxins.

摘要:Professor Liu Guobin's clinical experience in using the Wenyang Tongluo method (warming yang and unblocking collaterals) to treat diabetic foot is introduced. It is thought that diabetic foot commonly results from long-term diabetes, which leads to yang deficiency, and blood stasis and stagnation. The fundamental pathological condition is characterized by dual deficiency of yin and yang, with blood stasis and cold coagulation as the branch symptoms. The key to the pathogenesis lies in qi deficiency, blood stasis, and inadequate distribution of yang qi. Treatment focuses on warming yang and supplementing qi, activating blood, resolving stasis and unblocking collaterals. The primary prescription involves modification and syndrome differentiation based on Wenyang Tongluo Formula. A proven case is also included.

摘要:ObjectiveTo explore the correlation between traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndromes and sleep monitoring indexes in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) and obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS).MethodsBased on sleep respiratory monitoring results, 145 AIS patients were divided into two groups: those with OSAHS (n=81) and those without OSAHS (n=64). We compared differences in gender, age, body mass index (BMI), neck, chest, and waist circumferences, and national institutes of health stroke scale (NIHSS) scores. TCM syndromes were documented and analyzed through TCM syndrome differentiation. Apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) and lowest oxygen saturation (LSpO2) values were compared across different severities and TCM syndromes. Binary logistic regression was used to assess the correlation between TCM syndromes and sleep monitoring indexes.Results①There were statistically significant differences in BMI, chest, and waist circumferences between the two groups (P<0.05). ②The OSAHS group primarily presented with blockade of wind-phlegm-static blood syndrome (43.2%), whereas the non-OSAHS group showed upward disturbance of wind-fire syndrome (31.3%). The distribution of TCM syndromes between the two groups showed statistically significant differences (P<0.05). ③Patients in the OSAHS group had higher NIHSS scores than those in the non-OSAHS group (P<0.05). ④Of the 145 AIS patients, 90 were classified as mild and 55 as non-mild. Mild AIS patients showed higher LSpO2 values than non-mild AIS patients (P<0.05). However, there were no statistically significant differences in AHI values between the two groups (P>0.05). ⑤Significant differences were observed in AHI and LSpO2 values among AIS patients with different TCM syndromes (H=27.614, P<0.05; H=20.939, P<0.05). Further pairwise comparisons revealed that patients with blockade of wind-phlegm-static blood syndrome had the highest AHI values and the lowest LSpO2 values (P<0.05). ⑥Binary logistic regression analysis indicated that the severity of OSAHS [OR=0.635, 95%CI (0.419~0.962), P<0.05] was an independent predictor for the upward disturbance of wind-fire syndrome. Gender [OR=3.986, 95%CI (1.178~13.488), P<0.05], AHI [OR=1.090, 95%CI (1.046~1.136), P<0.05], and severity of OSAHS [OR=3.162, 95%CI (2.073~4.824), P<0.05] were independent predictors for the blockade of wind-phlegm-static blood syndrome. Gender [OR=0.225, 95%CI (0.060~0.850), P<0.05] and BMI [OR=1.170, 95%CI (1.025~1.335), P<0.05] were independent predictors for the qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome. AHI [OR=0.907, 95%CI (0.826~0.996), P<0.05] was an independent predictor for the stirring wind due to yin deficiency syndrome.ConclusionsIn AIS patients with OSAHS, the blockade of wind-phlegm-static blood syndrome was the most common. These patients had higher AHI values and more severe nocturnal hypoxemia. Gender, BMI, AHI, and the severity of OSAHS were correlated with the TCM syndrome differentiation in AIS patients with OSAHS. These findings provide valuable insights for TCM-based diagnosis and treatment of AIS patients with OSAHS.

摘要:ObjectiveTo explore the clinical feasibility of using ultrasound elastography (acoustic radiation force impulse imaging)to quantitatively assess lumbar "tendon" injuries.MethodsNinety subjects diagnosed with chronic non-specific low back pain, who were symptom-free after undergoing tendon-strengthening exercises, were recruited. Using a color Doppler ultrasound, the thickness and cross-sectional area of the bilateral multifidus muscles at the L4-L5 segment were measured, and the shear wave velocity (SWV) was measured using acoustic radiation force impulse (ARFI) imaging.Results①The study ultimately included 90 participants (26 males, 64 females) with an average age of (28.49±5.81) years and an average BMI of (22.20±2.45) kg·m-2. ②Before training, the differences in thickness, cross-sectional area and SWV of the multifidus muscle between the painful side and the contralateral side were statistically significant (P<0.05). After training, there was no statistically significant difference in the thickness, cross-sectional area, or SWV of the multifidus muscles between the painful side and the contralateral side (P>0.05). ③After training, the comparison of the depth and SWV between the superficial and deep layers of the multifidus muscles showed statistically significant differences (P<0.05). ④After training, there was a correlation between the average thickness, average cross-sectional area, and average SWV of the bilateral multifidus muscles (r=0.311, P=0.004; r=0.316, P=0.003). ⑤After training, the intra-group consistency of repeated SWV measurements was good for both the left and right multifidus muscles (P<0.05).ConclusionARFI imaging is a reliable method for quantitatively assessing the morphological and functional characteristics of lumbar "tendons". It is suitable for clinical application to guide and evaluate the treatment of chronic musculoskeletal conditions from a "tendon" perspective.

摘要:ObjectiveTo explore the molecular mechanism of icaritin against the resistance to epidermal growth factor receptor-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) based on network pharmacology and in vitro experiments.MethodsDownload the Simplified Molecular Input Line Entry System (SMILES) notation and therapeutic targets of icaritin from PubChem and Swiss Target Prediction databases. Collect NSCLC resistance disease targets using the GeneCards and Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man (OMIM) databases. Import the intersecting targets of the drug and disease into the STRING database to analyze protein-protein interactions (PPI). Use the Cytoscape 3.9.1 software with built-in plugins to calculate node topological parameters and filter core targets. Perform Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) and Gene Ontology (GO) enrichment analysis using the Database for Annotation, Visualization, and Integrated Discovery (DAVID), and construct the "icaritin-key target-disease-pathway" map. Conduct molecular docking using Pymol and Autodock Tools 1.5.7 software. In the in vitro experiments, NSCLC resistant cell line PC9OR was used to study the effects of icaritin on cell proliferation, colony formation, migration, invasion, and apoptosis, and to verify the core targets and key pathways obtained from the enrichment analysis.ResultsA total of 1 952 potential targets for icaritin in treating NSCLC resistance were identified. Through the analysis of topological parameters in the PPI network, 13 core targets were screened, including genes such as protein kinase B (AKT1), estrogen receptor α (ESR1), B-cell lymphoma 2 (BCL2), and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). KEGG pathway enrichment analysis indicated that cancer-related pathways, the phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase(PI3K)-protein kinose 13(AKT) signaling pathway, and the EGFR-TKIs resistance pathway might play crucial roles in the treatment of NSCLC EGFR-TKIs resistance by icaritin. GO enrichment analysis showed that cellular functions involved signal transduction, negative regulation of apoptosis, and positive regulation of DNA transcription. Molecular docking revealed that icaritin had strong binding affinities with each core target. Cell experiments demonstrated that icaritin inhibited the proliferation, colony formation, migration, invasion of resistant cells, and promoted apoptosis of resistant cells, while downregulating the mRNA expression levels of ESR1, AKT1, and EGFR, as well as the key protein levels of phosphorylated PI3K (p-PI3K) and phosphorylated AKT (p-AKT) in the PI3K-AKT pathway.ConclusionsIcaritin may exert its anti-NSCLC EGFR-TKIs resistance effect by multi-target regulation of the PI3K-AKT pathway, thereby inhibiting the proliferation, colony formation, migration, invasion of resistant cells, and promoting the apoptosis of EGFR-TKIs resistant cells.

摘要:ObjectiveTo observe the effects of luteolin on cell inflammatory response induced by influenza virus infection and to explore the mechanisms of luteolin regulating the immune response triggered by influenza virus.Methods①Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK8) assay was used to observe luteolin (5, 10, 25, 30 μmol/L) on the viability of macrophages in mouse macrophage RAW 264.7. ②RAW 264.7 cells or mouse peritoneal macrophages were stimulated by imiquimod (R837) and cells were treated with luteolin (5, 10, 20 μmol/L) for 3, 6 or 18 h,the expression levels of interleukin(IL)-6, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), IL-1β, interferon-β (IFN-β), interferon gamma-induced protein 10 (IP-10) and heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) were detected using fluorescent quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) methods. ③RAW 264.7 cells stimulated by R837 were treated with different concentrations of luteolin (5, 10, 20 μmol/L) for 1 or 3 h. The expression levels of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) p65 protein, phosphorylation p65 (p-p65) protein, phosphorylated glycogen synthase kinase-3β (p‑GSK3β), kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1 (Keap1) and nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) levels in nuclear were detected using Western blot method. ④RAW 264.7 cells were pretreated with Nrf2 inhibitor (ML385) for 12 h, and cells were treated with R837 and luteolin (5 μmol/L) for another 6 h. The mRNA expression levels of IL-6, TNF-α, IL-1β, IFN-β and IP-10 were detected using RT-qPCR method. ⑤A549 cells were infected with influenza virus A/PR/8C(PR8) for 2 h, and cells were treated with different concentrations of luteolin (5, 10, 20 μmol/L) for 10 h. The mRNA expression levels of IL-6, TNF-α, IL-1β, IFN-β, IP-10 and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) were detected using RT-qPCR method.Results①Different concentrations of luteolin under 30 μmol/L had no effect on the viability of RAW 264.7 cells (P>0.05). ②Luteolin significantly reduced the expression levels of IL-6 and TNF-α. Luteolin also reduced the mRNA expression levels of IL-1β, IFN-β and IP-10 in RAW 264.7 cells. Meanwhile, luteolin reduced the secretion of IL-6 and TNF-α in primary peritoneal macrophages under stimulation of R837. ③Luteolin could promote Nrf2 into nuclear, up-regulate HO-1 mRNA expression, inhibit p-p65 expression, and promote the phosphorylation of glycogen synthase kinase 3β (GSK3β). ④In the R837-induced macrophage inflammation, ML385 could restore the mRNA expression levels of IL-6, IL-1β, IFN-β and IP-10 inhibited by luteolin in RAW 264.7 cells. ⑤Luteolin inhibited the production of inflammatory factors in A549 cells induced by PR8 infection.ConclusionLuteolin could inhibit inflammation caused by influenza virus infection by inhibiting GSK3β activity and promoting the Nrf2/HO-1 pathway.

摘要:ObjectiveTo explore the correlation between the external color and chemical components, as well as the patterns of intrinsic component variation during the processing of Zhizi (Gardeniae Frucutus) by quantitatively analyzing the chromaticity values and intrinsic components of Jiaozhizi (Gardeniae Fructus Praeparatus) processed to different degrees, and to provide a reference for the quality evaluation of Jiaozhizi.MethodsA colorimeter was used to measure the chromaticity values (L*, a*, b*, E*ab) of three Jiaozhizi powder samples processed to different degrees. The content of eight key components in Jiaozhizi was determined by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Analytical methods such as principal component analysis (PCA), orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA), and Pearson correlation were used to analyze the correlation between chromaticity and component content.ResultsDue to the lack of intuitive and unified standards in herbal slice factories across various regions, there was a significant variation in the processing degree among the samples produced. As the processing progressed, the apparent color of Jiaozhizi gradually shifted from red-yellow to burnt brown. The chromaticity values of Jiaozhizi powder were highly correlated with its intrinsic components. Both the measured chromaticity parameters and the content of eight components exhibited a declining trend. Among them, chemical components such as geniposide, gardenoside, and crocin I, which showed a very significant positive correlation with the a* value, could serve as biomarkers for monitoring and quality control during the processing of Jiaozhizi.ConclusionBy establishing a correspondence between color changes and component variations during the processing of Jiaozhizi, the subjective ambiguities of traditional empirical identification are mitigated, thereby providing clues for the discrimination of processing degree and the prediction of the content of marker components in Jiaozhizi.

摘要:ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of Paning Ⅰ Formula on oxidative stress-mediated ferroptosis pathway in dopaminergic neurons of Parkinson's disease(PD) mice, and to explore the mechanism of this formula in treating PD.MethodsSixty SPF-grade C57/BL6 mice were injected intraperitoneally with 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP) to induce a PD model. Fifty successfully modeled mice were randomly divided into model group (9 g/L sodium chloride solution), madopar group (97.5 mg/kg levodopa and benserazide hydrochloride solution), and TCM low, medium and high dose groups (9.05 g/kg, 18.10 g/kg, 36.20 g/kg Paning Ⅰ Formula), with 10 mice in each group; an additional 10 mice were set as the normal group. The mice were administered the corresponding interventions via gavage for 14 consecutive days. The motor function of mice was evaluated by climbing pole, gait and open field analysis. The activity of mice substantia nigra neurons was detected by Nissl staining. The contents of dopamin (DA), 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid (DOPAC) and 3-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenylacetic acid (HVA) in striatum of mice were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The expression of tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) in substantia nigra of mice was detected by immunohistochemistry. The deposition of Fe3+ in substantia nigra of mice was detected by Prussian blue staining. The contents of serum Fe2+, and the level of catalase (CAT), glutathione (GSH), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-PX), malonic dialdehyde (MDA) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) were detected by colorimetry. Flow cytometry was used to detect reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels in mouse dopaminergic neurons. The protein expressions of acyl-CoA synthetase long chain family member 4 (ACSL4), glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) and solute carrier family 7 member 11 (SLC7A11) in the substantia nigra were detected by Western blot.Results①Motor function results showed that compared with the normal group, the step length and total moving distance of model group were shortened, and the pole climbing time was prolonged in the model group (P<0.01); Compared with the model group, dyskinesia of the each drug group was gradually decreased with the increased of gavage number of times, the improvement in the motor function was the most obvious at the day 12 after gavage (P<0.05). ②Nissl staining showed that compared with the normal group, the expression of average optical density in mice substantia nigra neurons was decreased in the model group (P<0.01); compared with the model group, the expression of average optical density in mice substantia nigra neurons was increased in medium, high dose groups and madopar group (P<0.01, P<0.001). ③ELISA results showed that compared with the normal group, the content of DA, DOPAC and HVA were increased in the mice striatum of the model group (P<0.001); Compared with the model group, the content of DA was increased in high dose group and madopar group (P<0.001); the content of DOPAC and HVA were increased in medium, high dose groups and madopar group (P<0.05, P<0.001). ④The immunohistochemical method results showed that, compared with the normal group, the expression of TH in mice substantia nigra neuron was decreased (P<0.001); Compared with the model group, the expression of TH in high dose group and madopar group were increased (P<0.01, P<0.001). ⑤Prussian blue staining showed that compared with the normal group, iron deposition and the iron death in the nigra of mice were increased in the model group; Compared with the model group, iron deposition and the iron death in the nigra of mice were decreased in each drug group. ⑥The colorimetric results showed that compared with the normal group, in the model group, the content of Fe2+ was increased (P<0.001), the activity of CAT, GSH-PX and SOD were decreased (P<0.001), the level of GSH was decreased (P<0.001), the level of MDA was increased (P<0.01); Compared with the model group, in the medium, high dose groups and madopar group, the content of Fe2+ decreased (P<0.05, P<0.001), the activity of GSH-PX and GSH were increased (P<0.05, P<0.001), in madopar group, the activity of CAT was increased (P<0.05), the level of MDA was decreased (P<0.05), in high dose group and madopar group, the activity of SOD was increased (P<0.05). ⑦Flow cytometry results showed that, compared with the normal group, the level of ROS in the nigra of mice was increased in the model group (P<0.001); Compared with the model group, the level of ROS was decreased in high dose group and madopar group (P<0.01); ⑧Results of Western blot showed that, compared with the normal group, in model group, the expression of ACSL4 protein in the nigra of mice was increased (P<0.001), the expression of GPX4 and SLC711 protein were decreased (P<0.001); Compared with the model group, in each drug group, the expression of ACSL4 protein was increased (P<0.05, P<0.001), the expression of GPX4 and SLC711 protein were increased (P<0.01, P<0.001).ConclusionsPaning Ⅰ Formula can alleviate motor dysfunction in MPTP-induced PD mice and has a neuroprotective effect. Its mechanism may be related to regulating iron metabolism, improving oxidative stress and inhibiting ferroptosis of dopaminergic neurons.

摘要:Non-puerperal mastitis (NPM) is characterized by a prolonged course and frequent recurrences, and its development and progression are associated with immune dysfunction and an imbalance of helper T cells (Th)1/Th2. This review discusses the mechanisms of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in treating NPM from the perspective of immune inflammation, summarizing the effects of TCM on regulating the Th1/Th2 balance in patients with NPM. TCM may restore the immune homeostasis of NPM patients by regulating the secretion of Th1 and Th2 cytokines, inhibiting the activation of interleukin-6 (IL-6)/Janus kinase 2 (JAK2)/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3), Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4)/nuclear factor-kappa B (NF‑κB) signaling pathways, and correcting the differentiation imbalance of CD4+ T cell subgroups, thereby exerting therapeutic effects.
