摘要:ObjectiveTo conduct a bibliometric analysis and evaluation of domestic and international literature published in the last 20 years on the application of natural language processing (NLP) technologies in the identification and labelling of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) terminology, and explore the application and future development prospects of NLP technologies in the standardization research of TCM terminology.MethodsLiterature from January 2003 to October 2023 was retrieved from databases including China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), VIP Chinese Science and Technology Journal Database (VIP), Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform (Wanfang), China Biomedical Literature Service System (SinoMed), and Web of Science. Data processing and statistical analysis tools such as Excel vba, Gephi, and PyCharm were used, employing bibliometric methods like frequency statistics, Apriori association analysis, and word cloud statistics to visually analyze the research hotspots.Results①After screening, 442 papers met the research criteria, comprising 320 in Chinese and 122 in English. ②Publications showed a consistent growth trend from 2016 to 2023. ③The majority of publications were from China. ④Among the collected Chinese literature, a significant proportion of publications were master's and doctoral theses, with the highest number of publications from Beijing Jiaotong University. ⑤The China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences had the highest publication count in Chinese, while University of Science and Technology Beijing led in English publications. There was frequent collaboration between TCM institutions and computer science institutions. ⑥The application of named entity recognition (NER) with BERT showed the most significant effects in TCM terminology research. ⑦Data related to TCM literature accounted for a substantial proportion.ConclusionsNLP-based research on the standardization of TCM terminology is still in the exploratory stage. Previous studies have shown the diversity of technology applications but lack systematization. Considering the potential of NLP technologies in TCM terminology recognition and labelling, further research is required to achieve systematic and intelligent TCM terminology standardization research and its widespread application.

摘要:This paper summarizes the research progress from 2015 to 2023 of acupuncture in preventing and treating non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and its complication. Related literature reviews about acupuncture in preventing and treating NSCLC from 2015 to 2023 were searched and integrated. The analyses show that acupuncture has proven its efficiency not only in smoking cessation, improving survival and perioperative status and immune function of NSCLC patients including alleviation of cancer pain, cancer-caused fatigue, depression and anxiety and sleeping disorder, improvement of respiratory system syndromes, prolongation of survival, etcetera, but also in reducing postoperative inflammatory response and complications. Moreover, acupuncture has proven to have clinical effects on attenuating toxic side effects after radiotherapy and chemotherapy including gastrointestinal adverse reactions, bone marrow suppression, hepatic and renal impairment, dermal toxic effects, etc. Mechanisms of effectiveness about acupuncture in preventing and treating NSCLC and its complication mainly functions through regulating levels of immune cells such as T cell subsets and NK cells, improving tumor microenvironment and modulating related signaling pathways.

摘要:ObjectiveTo analyze the association between interleukin-15 (IL-15) gene polymorphisms and the efficacy of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment in patients with hepatitis B virus e antigen (HBeAg)-negative chronic hepatitis B (CHB).MethodsA total of 312 HBeAg-negative CHB patients were randomly divided into the treatment group (n=156) and the control group (n=156). Both groups received antiviral treatment of Western medicine. In addition, the treatment group received Bushen Jianpi Lishi Granules (Kidney-tonifying and Spleen-Strengthening Dampness-Dispersing Granules), while the control group received a placebo of the granules. Patients in both groups were treated for one year. The treatment response rates of the two groups were compared, and changes in serum IL-15 levels were observed. Tagged single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of the IL-15 gene were selected for genotyping, and the association between IL-15 gene polymorphisms and treatment response was analyzed.Results①A total of 306 patients completed the trial, including 155 patients in the treatment group and 151 patients in the control group. ②There was no statistically significant difference in the treatment response rate between the two groups (P>0.05). ③Intra-group comparisons before and after treatment showed that serum HBsAg levels decreased and IL-15 levels increased in the treatment group (P<0.05), and serum HBsAg levels decreased in the control group (P<0.05). Inter-group comparisons after treatment showed statistically significant differences in serum HBsAg and IL-15 levels (P<0.05). ④After treatment, serum IL-15 levels increased in patients with a treatment response and decreased in patients without a response in both groups (P<0.05), and patients with a treatment response had higher IL-15 levels than patients without a treatment response in the treatment group (P<0.05). ⑤The results of association analysis revealed significant associations between treatment response and five SNPs: rs6819823, rs2857261, rs10519612, rs10519613, and rs1057972 (P<0.05). ⑥Before treatment, patients in the treatment group with the rs6819823 TT genotype had lower serum IL-15 levels than those with the GG genotype, those with the rs2857261 AA genotype had lower IL-15 levels than those with the GG genotype, and those with the rs1057972 AA genotype had lower IL-15 levels than those with the TT genotype (P<0.05). After treatment, patients carrying the minor alleles of rs6819823, rs2857261, rs10519612, rs10519613, and rs1057972 as homozygotes or heterozygotes showed an increase in serum IL-15 levels (P<0.05).ConclusionGenetic variations in the IL-15 gene and changes in IL-15 expression levels are associated with the clinical efficacy of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment in patients with HBeAg-negative CHB.

摘要:ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of baicalin, an extract from Huangqin (Scutellariae Radix), on the malignant biological behaviors of Hepa1-6 hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells and its potential mechanism in promoting apoptosis in HCC cells by combining network pharmacology and cellular experiments.Methods①The potential targets of baicalin were determined using the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systematic Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform (TCMSP). Subsequently, HCC related disease targets were retrieved from the Human Gene Database (GeneCards), the Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man (OMIM), and the Therapeutic Target Database (TTD). These targets were integrated with the baicalin compound targets to construct Venn diagrams and a protein-protein interaction (PPI) network to reveal key targets in baicalin treatment of HCC. Interaction genes were selected using Cytoscape software, and gene ontology (GO) functional enrichment and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analyses were performed using the Database for Annotation, Visualization and Integrated Discovery (DAVID) and Metascape database to elucidate the mechanism of action and related pathways in baicalin treatment of HCC. ②The effects of different concentrations of baicalin on Hepa1-6 cell viability were assessed using Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) assays. The impact on cell invasion capabilities was observed through Transwell cell invasion assays, and the effects of different concentrations of baicalin on the apoptosis of Hepa1-6 HCC cells were analyzed by flow cytometry. Western blot analysis was conducted to detect the expression of interleukin-6 (IL-6)/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) signaling pathway-related proteins, B-cell lymphoma 2 (Bcl-2) and Bcl-2-associated X (Bax) proteins.ResultsNetwork pharmacology identified 527 baicalin targets and 1,550 HCC related disease targets, with 139 overlapping targets. The Janus kinase (JAK)/STAT3 signaling pathway was selected as the research pathway based on network pharmacology screening results. Cellular experiments showed that baicalin could inhibit a range of malignant biological behaviors such as proliferation, invasion, and migration of HCC cells. Flow cytometry and Western blot results showed that baicalin could inhibit the activation of the IL-6/STAT3 signaling pathway within the HCC cells, regulate the expression of Bcl-2 and Bax, and promote apoptosis of HCC cells.ConclusionsResearch combining network pharmacology with cellular experiments has found that baicalin is a potentially effective treatment for HCC. It can inhibit the proliferation, invasion, and migration of HCC cells and significantly promote apoptosis. The mechanism of action is closely related to the downregulation of the IL-6/STAT3 signaling pathway.

摘要:This paper introduces the clinical trial of Yan Shiyun, a master of traditional Chinese medicine, using Buyang Huanwu Decoction to treat different diseases simultaneously. The confirmed cases include cerebral infarction, chronic subdural hematoma, coronary heart disease complicated with heart failure after PCI, cardiac neurosis, peripheral facial paralysis, and vitiligo. It is believed that although the six tested diseases and symptoms may not be the same, the main pathogenesis is qi deficiency and blood stasis. Therefore, the Buyang Huanwu Decoction added and subtracted is selected for clinical treatment, and the therapeutic effect is quite good. This reflects Professor Yan's diagnosis and treatment principles of treating different diseases together and adhering to the pathogenesis, providing reference for expanding the clinical treatment scope of Buyang Huanwu Decoction.

摘要:ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy and safety of Yucan Granules combined with losartan potassium tablets in treating diabetic kidney disease (DKD).MethodsNinety DKD patients with qi deficiency and damp stasis syndrome were randomly divided into a treatment group (n=45) and a control group (n=45). Besides conventional treatment, the treatment group received additional Yucan Granules and losartan potassium tablets, while the control group received Yucan placebo and losartan potassium tablets. Both groups were treated for 12 weeks. Clinical efficacy was observed, and the 24-hour urinary protein quantification, urine albumin to creatinine ratio (UACR), and laboratory indicators [serum creatinine (Scr), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), C-reactive protein (CRP), serum amyloid A (SAA), and interleukin-6 (IL-6)] were compared before and after treatment, along with a safety assessment.Results①Forty-four patients in both treatment and control groups completed the trial. ②The total clinical effective rate was 79.55% in the treatment group and 56.82% in the control group, and the total effective rate of traditional Chinese medicine syndromes was 86.36% and 72.73%, respectively, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05), indicating better efficacy in the treatment group. ③Intra-group comparisons before and after treatment showed reductions in 24-hour urinary protein quantification and UACR in both groups (P<0.05). Inter-group comparisons after treatment showed that 24-hour urinary protein quantification and UACR were lower in the treatment group (P<0.05). ④Both groups showed reductions in the levels of Scr, BUN, eGFR, TC, LDL, CRP, SAA, and IL-6 after treatment (P<0.05); Inter-group comparisons after treatment showed that levels of Scr, TC, LDL, CRP, SAA, and IL-6 were lower in the treatment group compared to those in the control group (P<0.05). ⑤No significant adverse reactions were observed in either group during the trial.ConclusionsThe efficacy of Yucan Granules combined with losartan potassium tablets in treating diabetic kidney disease is satisfactory. The combined use of Yucan Granules and losartan potassium tablets can effectively improve urinary protein levels and systemic inflammation in patients with diabetic kidney disease, and slow disease progression with good safety.

摘要:ObjectiveTo investigate the therapeutic effects of cinnamic acid (CA) on pathological myocardial hypertrophy and its underlying mechanisms.Methods①In vivo experiments were conducted using transverse aortic constriction (TAC) surgery to induce a myocardial hypertrophy model in C57BL/6J male mice, which were randomly divided into four groups: Sham controls, TAC, low-dose CA (CA-L), and high-dose CA (CA-H) groups. Four weeks after TAC surgery, transthoracic echocardiography was performed to assess the impact of CA on the cardiac structure and function in mice. Cardiac hypertrophy was evaluated by cardiac mass indexes and wheat germ agglutinin (WGA) staining. ②In vitro experiments involved using phenylephrine (PE) to induce hypertrophy in H9c2 cardiomyocytes, with rhodamine-phalloidin and atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) staining assessing cardiomyocyte hypertrophy. Mitochondrial function was assessed using the mitochondrial membrane potential assay kit with JC-1 (JC-1), red mitochondrial superoxide indicator (MitoSOX) fluorescent probe, mitochondrial permeability transition pore (mPTP) assay kit, and enhanced ATP assay kit.Results①In vivo experiments demonstrated that CA significantly antagonized TAC-induced pathological myocardial hypertrophy (P<0.05), as evidenced by transthoracic echocardiography, cardiac mass index, and WGA staining. ②In vitro experiment findings: The staining results with rhodamine-phalloidin and ANP indicated that CA significantly suppressed PE-induced hypertrophy in H9c2 cardiomyocytes (P<0.05). JC-1 staining revealed that CA significantly attenuated PE-induced impairment of mitochondrial membrane potential in cardiomyocytes (P<0.05). MitoSOX labeling further revealed that CA significantly mitigated PE-induced increases in mitochondrial superoxide production in H9c2 cardiomyocytes (P<0.05). mPTP assay kit showed that CA significantly attenuated PE-induced mPTP opening in H9c2 cardiomyocytes (P<0.05). Enhanced ATP assay kit indicated that CA significantly prevented the PE-induced reduction in ATP production in cardiomyocytes (P<0.05).ConclusionCA effectively mitigates TAC-induced pathological myocardial hypertrophy, possibly through direct antagonistic actions on cardiomyocyte hypertrophy and protective effects on mitochondria.

摘要:ObjectiveTo study the transcriptome characteristics of hypothalamus and pituitary in perimenopausal syndrome model rats by RNA-Seq and the regulatory effect of Erxian Decoction.MethodsThe perimenopausal syndromes model rats were established by bilateral ovariectomy. Forty eight female SD rats were randomly divided into sham operation group, bilateral ovariectomy group, estradiol intervention group and Erxian Decoction intervention group, with 12 rats in each group. On the 7th day after bilateral oophorectomy, the rats were administered respectively 0.1 mg·kg-1·d-1 17β-estradiol or 8 g·kg-1·d-1 Erxian Decoction for 6 weeks, once daily for 6 weeks; an equal amount of sterilized water were gavaged in both sham operation group and bilateral ovariectomy group. Then, the serum estradiol (E2), gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) and β-Endorphin (β-EP) were detected by ELISA. The hypothalamus and pituitary were detected by RNA-Seq, and the differentially expressed genes between the groups were screened according to FPKM and edger methods, and GO and KEGG enrichment analysis were performed. The differentially expressed genes such as Esr1 and Mt-nd4 in the hypothalamus, Camk2a and Thra in the pituitary were tested by real time quantitative PCR(RT-qPCR).Results①Compared with the sham operation group, the serum E2 and β-EP levels in the bilateral ovariectomy group were significantly decreased (P<0.05); compared with the bilateral ovariectomy group, the E2 and β‑EP levels in the Erxian Decoction group were significantly increased (P<0.05). ②The number of genes in the hypothalamus and pituitary of rats is 30,957. ③Compared with the sham operation group, 135 genes up-regulated and 348 genes down-regulated were found in the hypothalamus of ovariectomized rats; there are 409 genes up-regulated and 82 genes down-regulated in the pituitary gland. Compared with the bilateral ovariectomy group, after estradiol treatment, 126 genes were up-regulated and 225 genes were down-regulated in the hypothalamus of the rats; 93 genes up-regulated and 273 genes down-regulated in the pituitary gland; After treatment with Erxian Decoction, 91 genes were up-regulated and 92 genes were down-regulated in the hypothalamus of the rats; 390 genes were up-regulated and 376 genes were down-regulated in the pituitary gland.④The differentially expressed genes of the hypothalamus and pituitary were enriched in cellular processes, biological regulation and metabolic processes by GO analysis.⑤After KEGG analysis, the first 30 signaling pathways enriched with differentially expressed genes in the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, among which Erxian Decoction regulated signaling pathways such as nicotine addiction, nitrogen metabolism and synaptic vesicle circulation. ⑥The expression changes of Esr1, Mt-nd4 and Camk2a by RT-qPCR were consistent with the RNA-Seq results.ConclusionThe neuroendocrine system of hypothalamus and pituitary is in a state of disorder in bilateral ovariectomized rats. Estradiol focuses on regulating hypothalamic genes, and Erxian Decoction has a broader and deeper regulation in pituitary.

摘要:ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of oridonin (ORI) on the 13 metabolites within the glutathione metabolic network (GMN) in human esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) KYSE-150 cells, including cysteine (Cys), homocysteine (HCys), glutathione (GSH), methionine (Met), S-adenylyl homocysteine (SAH), cystathionine(Cysta), glycine (Gly), glutamic acid (Glu), glutamine (Gln), glutamylcysteine (GC), cysteinylglycine (CG), O-acetyl-serine (OAS) and serine (Ser).MethodsFirstly, the Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) assay was utilized to assess the effect of ORI on the viability of KYSE-150 cells, and the half-maximal inhibition concentration (IC50) was used as the intervention concentration for subsequent cell culture. KYSE-150 cells were then divided into 0 h, 12 h, 24 h, and 36 h groups based on different culture time. The 0 h group was set as control (blank culture medium), and the 12 h, 24 h and 36 h groups were treated with culture medium containing ORI (12.5 μmol/L) for corresponding time. Subsequently, cell contents from each group were extracted via ultrasonication. Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC‑MS) method was employed for the identification of ORI and GMN thiol adducts, while LC-MS combined with chemical derivatization method was utilized for detecting the 13 target metabolites. Finally, reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels of cellular extracts were quantified using a ROS assay kit.Results①ORI had a significant inhibitory effect on human ESCC KYSE-150 cells with an IC50 value of 12.5 μmol/L. ②Compared with the 0 h group, the concentrations of most metabolites within the GMN of KYSE-150 cells (CG, GSH, GC, Cly, Glu, SAH, Cys, OAS and Cysta), especially thiol-containing metabolites (CG, GSH, GC and Cys), showed a trend of initial increase followed by decrease after intervention with ORI. ③Three conjugates resulting from the binding of ORI to thiol-containing metabolites (Cys, HCys and GSH) were identified in cellular extracts. ④The level of ROS in KYSE-150 cells continued to increase after ORI intervention.ConclusionORI may induce ROS accumulation by modulating metabolite levels within the GMN of KYSE-150 cells, consequently impairing the cells' capacity to counteract lipid peroxidation and oxidative stress.

摘要:Colorectal cancer is one of the common digestive tract tumors. At present, surgical treatment occupies the main position in the clinical treatment, but the therapeutic effect is not good because it is easy to lead to tumor recurrence, invasion and metastasis, and with serious toxic and side effects. Baicalin is an important active ingredient extracted from Scutellariae Radix. It has significant biological activity and has pharmacological effects such as anti-inflammation, anti-thrombosis, relieving asthma, anti-cancer, lowering glucose and so on. By combing and summarizing the relevant literatures, it is found that the pharmacological studies of baicalin against colorectal cancer are mainly focused on the regulation of cancer cell proliferation, apoptosis, invasion and metastasis, differentiation and so on, which may provide reference for the prevention and clinical application of baicalin in colorectal cancer.

摘要:This article reviews the research progress on the mechanism of the traditional Chinese medicine therapy of chronic heart failure by using treatment of nourishing qi and warming yang, activating blood and diverting water, which based on the traditional Chinese pathogenesis of yang qi weakness, heart blood stasis, water stopping. And the research shows that the clinical efficacy of this method in the treatment of chronic heart failure is significant, and the mechanism is mainly related to improving myocardial fibrosis and ventricular remodeling, regulating the oxidative stress response, improving hemodynamic disorders and myocardial energy metabolism, intervening related signaling pathways, and relieving diuretic resistance.

摘要:This paper summarizes the role of interleukin-1β (IL-1β) in intervertebral disc degeneration and the advancement in research on interventions using traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). IL-1β is a pro-inflammatory cytokine whose overexpression can lead to inflammation and structural damage in the intervertebral discs, further accelerating disc degeneration. Recent studies have shown that active components in traditional Chinese medicine can target and inhibit IL-1β within various disc cells, thereby protecting the discs. This paper discusses the mechanisms of IL-1β in intervertebral disc degeneration based on the structure, function, and regulatory mechanisms of IL-1β, and reviews the progress of related traditional Chinese medicine interventions.
