      摘要:This paper introduces the clinical experience of Chinese medical master Zhou Zhongying in differentiation and treatment of pulmonary heart disease. According to the method of syndrome differentiation in pathogenesis, professor Zhou believes that the basic pathogenesis of pulmonary heart disease is phlegm and blood stasis blocking lung and deficiency of qi and yin, phlegm and blood stasis are the core pathological factors, and the disease locations involve lung, heart, spleen and kidney, forming a complex pathogenesis characteristic of deficiency and solid, multiple causes and multiple organs. Professor Zhou often uses compound method, method random turn, hybrid to treat. In order to realize the flexible principle according to the different pathogenesis of clinical differentiation and treatment, the combination of prescription and medicine is multi-purpose and multi-effect coordination.

      摘要:Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma is a kind of rare and valuable Chinese medicinal materials with a long history for medicinal use, which has been widely recognized worldwide. Due to different growing environments and processing methods, there are many Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma varieties circulating on the market with a wide range of prices. However, Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma market is disrupted by several problems, such as unclear classification boundary, vague definition of different products and improper and inconsistent English names, which lead to low-quality and shoddy products being sold as high-quality ones in many shops. Under such circumstances, it is hard to guarantee the quality, regulate the market and promote high-quality products at a preferential price. It also affects the international trade and development of Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma and its products. Therefore, it is urgent to develop terminology standards to scientifically distinguish and standardize the different Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma varieties. In this paper, we systematically reviewed the status and problems of terminology standards of Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma varieties, proposed classification, definition and translation principles based on related theories and problems, carried out case studies, and put forward suggestions for terminology standardization of Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma varieties.

      摘要:ObjectiveTo explore the distribution rule of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome elements in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) with lung cancer.MethodsReferring to relevant literature and clinical experience, the TCM symptoms and signs that can reflect the clinical characteristics of COPD and lung cancer were selected and a survey scale was developed. On this basis, baseline data and TCM four diagnosis information of COPD (without lung cancer), lung cancer (without COPD), and COPD with lung cancer (respectively set as COPD group, lung cancer group, and COPD with lung cancer group) were collected and entered into “iLUNG TCM” health management software system. The TCM syndrome elements distribution in each group of patients were analyzed and compared based on the syndrome elements differentiation system. The TCM syndrome elements combination rule was explored using hierarchical cluster analysis method.Results①A total of 527 subjects were collected, including 166 patients in the COPD group, 182 patients in the lung cancer group, and 179 patients in the COPD with lung cancer group. ②Among 179 patients in the COPD with lung cancer group, more than one-third had phlegm(134 cases), qi deficiency (123 cases), and blood stasis (75 cases) in terms of TCM syndrome elements of the disease nature category. The COPD with lung cancer group had higher proportion of patients with phlegm and blood stasis and lower proportion of patients with qi stagnation than the COPD group (P<0.05); Meanwhile, the COPD with lung cancer group had higher proportion of patients with phlegm and lower proportion of patients with yin deficiency than the lung cancer group (P<0.05). ③Among 179 patients in the COPD with lung cancer group, more than half of the patients had their disease locations involving the lung (179 cases), kidney (121 cases), and spleen (94 cases) in terms of the TCM syndrome elements of disease location category. The COPD with lung cancer group had higher proportion of kidney involvement in patients than the lung cancer group (P<0.05). ④The COPD with lung cancer group had higher proportion of patients with more than 3 syndrome elements than the COPD group and the lung cancer group (P<0.05). ⑤The result of cluster analysis showed that the syndrome elements of the disease nature category in COPD with lung cancer could be divided into three categories: the first category included phlegm and blood stasis, the second category included qi deficiency and yang deficiency, and the third category included yin deficiency, dampness, heat, blood deficiency, qi stagnation and cold.ConclusionsThe disease location of COPD with lung cancer is mainly in lung, kidney and spleen. The phlegm, blood stasis, qi deficiency and yang deficiency are the most common TCM syndrome elements in patients with COPD and lung cancer, with the pathogenic characteristics of vital qi deficiency, intermingled phlegm and blood stasis, and intermingled deficiency and excess.

      摘要:Nuangan Decoction is used for treating yin-cold in the liver and kidney, pain in the lower abdomen, hernia and other syndromes. Accordingly, later traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) physicians limited its use to the treatment of lower jiao disorders. The standard textbook of TCM colleges and universities – Formulaology – also states that its main indication is liver and kidney deficiency, and cold stagnation in liver channel. We think that Nuangan Decoction is formulated based on the liver-warming method by referring to Jingyue Quanshu (Jing-yue's Complete Works) and textual research. The method of warming the liver is to warm liver yang by nourishing liver blood. In Jingyue Quanshu, the Chinese character “肾 (kidney)” is used to refer to the lower jiao area and has nothing to do with the kidneys. Therefore, Nuangan Decoction treats deficiency of liver blood rather than deficiency of liver and kidney, and it is more applicable to the pathogenesis of liver blood deficiency. TCM physicians there after took root in the liver and kidney and misinterpreted the original indications of Nuangan Decoction. Further research is required.

      摘要:This paper explains the theoretical connotation of the “brain-heart-kidney-essence chamber” axis, emphasizes that impotence is caused by the dysfunction of the essence chamber as the brain, heart, kidney and other internal organs cannot function properly, proposes the treatment principle of relieving depression and tranquilizing the mind, tonifying the kidneys and benefiting the qi, and summarizes the experience in negotiating the acupuncture prescription for impotence. One proven case is presented.

      摘要:This paper introduces the clinical experience of professor Qi Guangchong in treating andrological diseases with modified Guizhi Longgu Muli Decoction. Developed from the Chinese classic formula – Guizhi Longgu Muli Deocoction, it is reformulated by changing Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) into Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma), increasing the amount of Dazao (Jujubae Fructus), and adding Lujiao (Cervi Cornu) and Fengfang (Vespae Nidus). Therefore, modified Guizhi Longgu Muli Decoction has the effects of harmonizing yin and yang, warming and tonifying kidney yang. Prof. Qi advocates the combination of disease differentiation and syndrome differentiation. First select an appropriate formula based on disease differentiation, and then modify the formula based on syndrome differentiation. Modified Guizhi Longgu Muli Decoction can be applied to various andrological diseases such as impotence, premature ejaculation, and infertility, etc. Its clinical application is exemplified by three proven cases.

      摘要:This paper introduces the experience of professor Wang Jianyi in treating gastric distension with Liuwei Xiaopi Prescription. It is believed that the pathogenesis of gastric distension lies in the dysfunction of spleen and stomach transportation, and the stagnation of qi in the middle jiao. The core pathogenesis is spleen deficiency, phlegm obstruction, and qi stagnation. In clinical practice, Liuwei Xiaopi Prescription is formulated, which contains Zhi Houpo (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex Preparatum), Foshou (Citri Sarcodactylis Fructus), Zisugeng (Perillae Caulis), Jineijin (Galli Gigerii Endothelium Corneum), Chao Guya (Setariae Fructus Germinatus Tostum) and Chao Maiya (Hordei Fructus Germinatus Tostum). It is suitable for treating gastric distension caused by spleen deficiency, phlegm obstruction, and qi stagnation. Remarkable results have been achieved. Two proven cases are presented.

      摘要:Lower limb ulcers secondary to rheumatoid arthritis (RA) have a poor prognosis and high disability rate. Early identification and diagnosis of the primary disease is beneficial to the treatment. The disease has deficient root and excess manifestations with “deficiency, stasis and necrosis” as the basic pathogenesis. In terms of treatment, we should consider the urgency of the disease and choose to treat it either by clearing heat, removing toxicity and promoting diuresis or benefiting qi, strengthening vital qi and eliminating toxicity. In the whole treatment course, activating blood circulation and eliminating blood stasis should not be neglected. In addition to oral traditional Chinese medicine decoctions, external treatment can also be applied to treat the disease. The integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine as well as the combination of internal and external treatment can be used to treat lower limb ulcers secondary to RA, which can eliminate necrosis, remove stasis, nourish deficiency and generate fresh, and can improve the clinical symptoms of patients to a large extent. One proven case is provided.

      摘要:A systematic research on Thlaspi Herba was summarized, including name, source, application site, efficacy, and combined with modern pharmacological research. Thlaspi Herba was sourced from the dried above-ground parts of Thlaspi Herba, a cruciferous plant. It has functions such as clearing liver and improving eyesight, regulating stomach and removing dampness, removing toxicity and detumescence. It is commonly used in clinical treatment for symptoms such as redness and swelling of eyes, hypochondriac pain, intestinal carbuncle, edema, leukorrhea, furuncle and carbuncle, etc. In clinical application, it should be avoided to be confused with herbs such as patrinia.

      摘要:ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy of modified Taohong Siwu Decoction plus pan-retinal photocoagulation for treating severe non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy (sNPDR).MethodsNinety-four cases of sNPDR patients with syndrome of qi-yin deficiency and blood stasis blocking collaterals were randomly divided into treatment group (n=47) and control group (n=47). The control group was treated with pan-retinal photocoagulation, and the treatment group additionally used modified Taohong Siwu Decoction besides the treatment measures of the control group, and the treatment course of both groups was 3 months. The improvement of TCM symptoms was observed, and the changes in foveal avascular zone (FAZ) area, FAZ circumference, vascular density (VD) and perfusion density (PD) of superficial vascular plexuses of the two groups were compared before treatment, after 1 month and 3 months of treatment, respectively.Results①There were two drop-out cases in treatment and control groups, respectively, and 90 cases completed the trial, with 45 cases in each group. ②The total effective rate was 73.33% in the treatment group and 51.11% in the control group, and the improvement in TCM symptoms in the treatment group was better than that in the control group (P<0.05). ③The treatment group had smaller FAZ area after 1-month and 3-month treatment (P<0.05); but there was no statistic difference in FAZ area between 1-month treatment and 3-month treatment in both groups (P>0.05). There was no statistic difference in FAZ area between the two groups after 1-month treatment and 3-month treatment, respectively (P>0.05). ④The treatment group had shorter FAZ circumference after 1-month treatment (P<0.05), both groups had shorter FAZ circumference after 3-month treatment (P<0.05), and the FAZ circumference of both groups after 3-month treatment was shorter than that after 1-month treatment (P<0.05). The treatment group had shorter FAZ circumference than the control group after 1-month treatment and 3-month treatment, respectively (P<0.05). ⑤Both groups had higher VD at the center and outer areas after 1-month treatment and 3-month treatment, respectively (P<0.05); and the VD at the outer area in both groups after 3-month treatment was higher than that after 1-month treatment (P<0.05). The treatment group had higher VD at the center area than the control group after 3-month treatment (P<0.05). ⑥Both groups had higher PD at the center, outer, and full areas after 1-month treatment and 3-month treatment, respectively (P<0.05); and in the treatment group, the PD at the outer and full areas after 3-month treatment was higher than that after 1-month treatment (P<0.05). The differences in PD at the outer and full areas after 1-month treatment and 3-month treatment between two groups were statistically significant (P<0.05).ConclusionThe combined use of modified Taohong Siwu Decoction and pan-retinal photocoagulation has gained more satisfactory effects on the treatment of sNPDR than the single use of pan-retinal photocoagulation since the modified Taohong Siwu Decoction can better improve patients' fundus microcirculation and protect their visual function.

      摘要:ObjectiveTo investigate the efficiency and underlying mechanism of baicalin in the treatment of colorectal cancer liver metastasis(CRLM) so as to provide a scientific foundation for the prevention and treatment of CRLM with traditional Chinese medicine.MethodsTwenty-four C57BL/6J male mice aged 6 weeks were randomly divided into 4 groups: the normal diet group, the high-fat diet group, the low-dose baicalin group (50 mg/kg, fed with a high-fat diet) and the high-dose baicalin group (200 mg/kg, fed with a high-fat diet) with 6 mice in each group. The liver metastasis of colorectal cancer model was established after the mice were fed with the normal or high-fat diet for 4 weeks. Subsequent to the surgery, the mice were orally gavaged with baicalin or PBS daily for 4 weeks. The body weights of the mice in each group were recorded during the experiment. At the end of the experiment, blood samples were collected for detecting the levels of total cholesterol (TC), total triglyceride(TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C). The mass of inguinal white adipose tissue (iWAT), epididymal white adipose tissue (eWAT) and dorsal brown adipose tissue (BAT) was weighed. Primary tumor weight, liver weight and the number of liver metastasis foci were recorded, and the liver index (the ratio of liver weight to body weight) and liver metastasis rate were calculated. HE staining was used to observe the morphological changes of the livers. The 16S rRNA gene sequence was used to analyze the structure and composition of the gut microbiota. The mRNA expression levels of epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) related genes including Vimentin、N-cadherin、E-cadherin, and Occludin were detected by RT-qPCR. The relationship between EMT related gene expression levels and Firmicutes microbiota abundance was determined using Pearson correlation analysis.ResultsThe body weight, serum levels of TC and LDL-C, fat weight, primary tumor weight, liver weight, liver index, the number of liver metastases and liver metastases rate in the high-fat diet group were significantly higher than those of mice in the normal diet group. The data of the low-dose and high-dose baicalin groups were lower than those of the high-fat diet group. All of the above differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Firmicutes abundance and the ratio of Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes (F/B) were increased (P<0.05) in the high-fat diet group, and the F/B ratio decreased (P<0.05) after baicalin treatment. Compared with the normal diet group, the mRNA expression levels of Vimentin and N⁃cadherin in liver metastases in the high-fat diet group were significantly increased (P<0.05), while the mRNA expression levels of E⁃cadherin and Occludin were significantly decreased (P<0.05); compared with the high-fat diet group, after intervention with baicalin, the mRNA expression levels of Vimentin and N⁃cadherin were significantly decreased (P<0.05), while the mRNA expression levels of E‑cadherin and Occludin were significantly increased (P<0.05). The relative abundances of several Firmicutes bacteria were positively correlated with the expression levels of Vimentin and N⁃cadherin mRNA, but negatively correlated with the expression levels of E⁃cadherin and Occludin mRNA levels.ConclusionBaicalin effectively inhibits high-fat diet-induced colorectal cancer liver metastasis, which is associated with the restoration of gut microbiota structure and the reversal of EMT.

      摘要:This paper reviewed the research progress on the mechanism of activating blood and removing stasis of Danhong Injection and its interaction with commonly used anticoagulants. Danhong Injection mainly plays the role of activating blood and removing stasis from the aspects of inhibiting platelet aggregation and activation, affecting the secretion of coagulation factors in endogenous and exogenous coagulation pathways, improving hemorheology indicators, anti-inflammatory reaction, affecting vascular endothelial cells, and so on. Through the effect on the activity of cytochrome P450 (CYP450) enzyme, it suggests the potential drug interaction and its mechanism after combined with common anticoagulants. The purpose of this paper is to provide reference for the rational use of Danhong Injection and its combination with other drugs.

      摘要:This paper reviewed the research progress on alkaloid active ingredients in Heye (Nelumbinis Folium) against non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Alkaloids in Heye (Nelumbinis Folium) have significant therapeutic effects on NAFLD, and their mechanism of action includes improving lipid and glucose metabolism, antioxidative stress, reducing inflammation, anti-fibrosis, and regulating gut microbiota, etc.

      摘要:This article reviewed the research progress in monomers of traditional Chinese herbal medicine targeting PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway to prevent and treat diabetic nephropathy (DN). Studies have shown that PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway can inhibit inflammatory reaction, oxidative stress, apoptosis and autophagy, and plays an important role in the development and progression of DN. Monomers of traditional Chinese herbal medicine (baicalin, dendrobine, curcumin, notoginsenoside R1, platycodin D and osthole) can effectively prevent and treat DN by regulating PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway.

      摘要:The research progress on the regulation of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) signaling pathway in rheumatoid arthritis by monomeric compounds of traditional Chinese medicine was reviewed. NF-κB is presented in a variety of cells and involved in the development of rheumatoid arthritis. By inhibiting the activation of NF-κB pathway, monomeric compounds of traditional Chinese medicine regulate the transcription of target genes and affect various biological behaviors such as cell proliferation, survival and expression of inflammatory factors, and play a therapeutic role in anti-inflammatory, immune regulation and bone protection.

      摘要:This paper reviews the key processes of tumor cell metabolic reprogramming and the research progress in regulating tumor metabolic reprogramming by TCHMs. Metabolic reprogramming is considered to be a hallmark feature of malignant tumor. With the increasing understanding of the complexity of tumor biology, the study of tumor metabolic reprogramming has been deepened in the medical community. In order to meet the bioenergetic and biosynthetic demands of rapid cell proliferation and to rapidly adapt to the tumor microenvironment, the energy metabolic pattern of tumor cells will be reprogrammed accordingly, mainly reflected in the abnormalities of glucose, lipid and amino acid metabolism. Traditional Chinese herbal medicines (TCHMs) regulate in a multi-target, multi-pathway and multi-track manner, which can change the metabolic microenvironment of tumor cells through regulating metabolic reprogramming, and then exert anti-tumor effects.
