摘要:Combined with the Diagnosis and Treatment Plan of Pneumonia Infected by Novel Coronavirus (7th trial version) promulgated by the state, the etiology and pathogenesis of COVID-19 were analyzed from the four stages of dampness, heat, toxin and deficiency. It is considered that COVID-19 can be divided into mild-syndrome (such as cold and dampness stagnation in the lung and accumulation of dampness and heat in the lung), common-syndrome (such as stagnation of dampness and toxin in the lung and cold and dampness blocking the lung), severe-syndrome (like blockage of pulmonary qi by pestilent toxin and intense heat in both qifen and yingfen), critical-syndrome (internal obstruction and external collapse), and lung and spleen qi deficiency and dual deficiency of qi and yin in convalescent stage. The diagnosis and treatment strategies and prevention ideas were discussed in each stage.

摘要:Based on the classical literature of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and reflections on clinical practice, we intend to explain the etiology, pathogenesis, law of transmission and change, as well as therapeutic prescriptions of coronavirus disease 2019 (hereinafter referred to as COVID-19) based on the theory of “damp epidemic”. We reckon that COVID-19 is caused by the endogenous damp toxin and exogenous epidemic pathogens, which interact with each other and contribute to the disease together; COVID-19 pandemic not only follows the law of transmission and change of Wei-Qi-Ying-Xue, but also shows the transmission and change process within triple energizers.Besides, we also put forward clinical suggestions for the TCM diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 through reviewing, organizing and summarizing syndromes, treatment principles and methods, prescriptions and herbal medicines of “damp epidemic” in relevant TCM classics.

摘要:Based on the analysis of proven cases, we discussed the ideas and methods of clearing heat and eliminating dampness in treating coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) regarding the “eliminating pathogenic factors as the first and foremost principle”. It is believed that COVID-19 is a pandemic with the characteristics of “damp-heat”, which should be treated by the method of clearing heat and eliminating dampness, with “eliminating pathogenic factors as the first and foremost principle” and supplemented by the method of strengthening vital qi. Under the guidance of the theory of eliminating pathogenic factors and strengthening vital qi in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), we can help alleviate fever and smooth bowel movement to stop the disease progress, avoid the transformation of critical and severe cases and reduce the risk of death by eliminating pathogenic factors first and treating both the lung and intestine. Therapeutic methods adopted include dispersing lung to calm panting, dredging fu organs to purge heat, and resolving dampness with aromatics, etc. We follow the principles of eliminating pathogenic factors and strengthening vital qi as well as regulating the lung, liver and spleen to improve liver function and reduce the risk of disease aggravation by using the methods of clearing heat and resolving dampness, soothing liver and invigorating spleen, cooling blood and removing blood stasis, etc. We are also dedicated to the improvement of patients’ mental and physical health by strengthening vital qi. The method of invigorating qi and spleen we adopted can fasten the negative conversion in virus nucleic acid test, shorten the course of disease and facilitate recovery.

摘要:Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) can be classified into the category of warm diseases in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), and outthrusting method is an important therapeutic method in treating warm diseases. Based on ancient and modern literatures of TCM, COVID-19 diagnosis and treatment programs issued by National Health Commission of the People`s Republic of China and various provincial and municipal health commissions were analysed. It was believed that the outthrusting method should be applied throughout the whole treatment course of COVID-19. Outthrusting method can be widely applied to the treatment of COVID-19 patients at different stages and with different clinical types when combined with other TCM therapeutic methods properly.
摘要:The pathological mechanism and the treatment strategy of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) complicated with cardiovascular diseases was discussed based on psychocardiology. It is believed that anxiety and depression can aggravate the condition of COVID-19 patients with cardiovascular diseases, and its mechanism may be related to the activation of renin-angiotensin system.Clinically, physical therapies such as counseling, Chinese medical exercises, five-element music and other intervention measures such as western medicine can be adopted for the treatment. Traditional Chinese medicine can also play its role by differentiating syndromes like liver qi stagnation, heart-spleen deficiency, stasis and obstruction of heart vessel, and phlegm-fire disturbing the heart and then treating them accordingly.

摘要:Objective:To analyze the clinical features and diagnosis and treatment of patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19),explore potential factors influencing the course of disease and hospitalization days, and provide reference for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) treatment of COVID-19. MethodsNinety-three included patients with COVID-19 were those admitted to Ward 5 and Ward 7 of Leishenshan Hospital of Wuhan city from February to March 2020. Their demographic features, medical data at the onset of COVID-19,and laboratory test were collected through questionnaire survey, and statistical analysis was carried out by SAS9.2 software. Results:The average age of 93 COVID-19 patients was 60.56 years old with the standard deviation of 12.32. Male patients accounted for 40.86%. The majority of the patients were common type (86.02%),and 42.34% of the patients were accompanied by chronic diseases. The main symptoms of COVID-19 patients at admission included fatigue (83.87%),nervousness (82.80%), depression(70.97%),dry cough (68.82%) and sleep disorder (66.67%). All patients received TCM treatment, with 44.09% also receiving western medicine treatment,41.94% receiving acupuncture treatment and 12.90% receiving auricular point/application treatment. More than 90% of the patients had no symptoms of fever, abdominal distension and anorexia when they were discharged from hospital. The average course of disease was 44.74 days with the standard deviation of 14.70, and the average hospitalization duration was 18.99 days with the standard deviation of 9.97. The course of disease of patients receiving acupuncture treatment was significantly shorter than that of patients not receiving acupuncture treatment (P<0.05),and the hospitalization days of patients receiving acupuncture treatment were also shorter than that of patients not receiving acupuncture treatment. Conclusion:Most COVID-19 cases included have no complications, and TCM intervention rate in treating COVID-19 is high. Acupuncture, as a representative of TCM treatment, can alleviate the symptoms of patients, shorten the course of disease and hospitalization days.

Conclusion:When acupuncture is used to treat VCI, acupoints on the yang meridians, head and neck are the main points to be selected and local acupoints are selected and used with both reinforcing and reducing methods to achieve the desired effects of tonifying spleen and kidney, resolving phlegm and removing blood stasis, refreshing brain and inducing resuscitation.
摘要:Different applications of TCM Zheng can be described by thermodynamic state. But in everyday usage of the term “state”, it tends to describe the situation that is associated with long-term or stable changes. Because of the consistence between Zheng and state, the combination of disease and Zheng is developed into the combination of state and disease differentiation with treatment, which highlights the feature that TCM not only attaches importance to disease, but also gives priority to the treatment of state in the contemporary context. It may be an important direction in the future to understand and study TCM Zheng from the point of view of state, especially thermodynamic state.

摘要:Objective:To sort out the efficacy and application evolution of Haematitum(Zheshi) in the literature of materia medica and prescription books. MethodsThe evolution process of the efficacy of Haematitum was analyzed by referring to materia medica and prescription books from the Han and Tang dynasties to the present. Results:In the Han and Tang dynasties, the efficacy and applications of Haematitum had been basically determined, which had the action of dispelling pathogenic factors and detoxification, lowering adverse flow of qi and checking fright, cooling blood and stopping bleeding, reducing leucorrhea and promoting embryo discharge, and nourishing blood and tonifying qi. During the Song and Yuan dynasties,it was definite about Haematitum’s antiemetic effect. The category of its stopping bleeding effect was extended from the bleeding syndrome of lower energizer to the epistaxis of the upper energizer, the hematemesis of the middle energizer, and the profuse uterine bleeding and hematochezia of the lower energizer; its efficacy of reinforcing deficiency was divided into strengthening the spleen and securing essence. Moreover,It was also clear that it can promote granulation to astringe ulcer by external usage. In the Ming and Qing dynasties, the utility of Haematitum was divided. More attention was paid to mechanisms in that period, and the illness treated with Haematitum mostly related to fever, deficiency and reverse syndrome. The main efficiency of Haematitum in contemporary Chinese pharmacy textbooks was simplified to repressing hyperactive liver yang, descending the adverse flow of qi with heavy drugs, cooling blood and hemostasis. Conclusion:From the Han and Tang dynasties to the contemporary era,the efficacy’ parlance of Haematitum has changed from confusion to refinement and standardization, but there are both additions and omissions in the efficacy of the drug, which are worth further sorting out and making full use of.
摘要:To introduce the similarities and differences in the differential treatment of varicella and herpes zoster with classical prescriptions. It is considered that both of them are common skin diseases caused by varicella-zoster virus(VZV) infection. For varicella, the treatment is focused on dispelling pathogenic factors by syndrome differentiation concentrated on the three yang meridians of the Taiyang, Yangming and Shaoyang in the six meridians, and gypsum associated prescriptions can be used. For herpes zoster, attention is paid to strengthening the healthy qi by syndrome differentiation focused on the six meridians, deficiency and excess, and Chaihu(Radix Bupleuri) associated prescriptions can be applied.

摘要:Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a disease characterized by excessive accumulation of liver fat in patients with less or no alcohol consumption. Autophagy is an evolutionary conserved intracellular degradation function, which is of great significance to hepatic homeostasis and can delay the occurrence and development of NAFLD to a certain extent. Based on autophagy regulation, the mechanism of action in the treatment of NAFLD was reviewed from three aspects:traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) compound formulas, TCM crude extracts and TCM active components. It was found that TCM can inhibit the occurrence and development of liver steatosis and NAFLD by regulating autophagy of hepatocytes. It was also believed that TCM induced autophagy of hepatocytes may be a new therapeutic strategy for NAFLD. In the conclusion part, the limitations of the current research and the challenges faced by TCM modernization were pointed out for the purpose of providing information for the future innovative drug research and treatment development of NAFLD.
