Research progress on acupuncture clinical diagnosis and treatment technologies based on artificial intelligence
Acupuncture is an important part of traditional Chinese medicine, which is widely recognized and applied globally. It has shown significant efficacy in treating chronic diseases, pain, and other symptoms. With the rapid development of technology, artificial intelligence (AI) has been integrated into the field of acupuncture, resulting in a series of new research advancements that improve both the therapeutic effects of acupuncture and the precision of needling manipulations. We review the progress in acupuncture clinical diagnosis and treatment technologies based on AI, exploring the integration of traditional acupuncture and AI technologies from four aspects: acupuncture point localization, point selection prescriptions, needling manipulations, and acupuncture efficacy prediction. The aim is to better integrate AI technology with acupuncture clinical practices, fostering the objectification and standardization of acupuncture techniques, and providing evidence and guidance for clinical practice.
