Discussion on problems and countermeasures for clinical efficacy evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine based on diagnosis and treatment model of traditional medicine
The clinical efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is central to its value, and ensuring a scientific and fair evaluation has long been a major focus of academic discussion. Currently, the evaluation system for TCM efficacy lacks unified standards. Although progress has been made in areas such as selection of scale items, weight distribution, and score calculation, further improvements are needed to enhance objectivity and rationality. This paper proposes combining methods like the visual analogue scale (VAS)-based grade-metric scoring method, symptom grading and scoring method, the selection method of key efficacy evaluation factors, and the efficacy visualizing method. It also recommends leveraging multidisciplinary research techniques to construct a three-dimensional, dynamic, and trend-based evaluation method that differs from traditional endpoint evaluation method. This new evaluation method aims to improve the accuracy and reliability of the evaluation results, providing more precise and scientifically supported data for clinical decision-making.
