A new interpretation of Jijiao Lihuang Pill clause in Synopsis of Golden Chamber
and returns to Zhang Zhongjing's clinical diagnosis and treatment decision-making model of "disease-pulse-syndrome combined treatment", which following the clinical practice process of "differentiates the disease → analyzes the pulse → analyzes the syndrome → determines the treatment". Through methods such as literature review and textual research, the connotation of this clause is explored. It is believed that Jijiao Lihuang Pill belongs to the formula for trea
ting thoracic fluid retention, and the use of the pill formulation not only reducing the drug resistance of violent, but also take into accounts the factors of patients with abdominal distention who do not want to drink water, and Jiaomu could take better effects using the formulation of pill or powder. The note at the end of the prescription is described as "there is body fluid in the mouth". After textual research, this article believes that the word "zhi(stop)" is missing in the sentence of Deng Zhen's edition. The original text should be "there is body fluid in the mouth, then stop", that is to say, the body fluid in the mouth is the reaction after the medication takes effect. This prescription is used to treat abdominal distention caused by water during the process of thoracic fluid retention. In modern medicine, the symptoms of patients with acute exacerbation of chronic pulmonary heart disease complicated with peritoneal effusion (such as dry mouth, abdominal distention, etc.) are close to the record of Jijiao Lihuang Pill's clause.
