Experience of Bai Changchuan in treating hypersensitive purpura nephritis based on theory of "treating lower diseases from above"
This article introduces the clinical experience of Professor Bai Changchuan, a nationally recognized traditional Chinese medicine physician, in treating hypersensitive purpura nephritis (HSPN) based on the theory of "treating lower diseases from above". Professor Bai believes that the pathogenesis of HSPN involves pathogenic factors lurking in the throat and sinking into the kidneys. His treatment strategy emphasizes four key methods: expelling pathogens and relieving the throat, regulating the triple burners, applying external mouth rinses, and targeting treatment with Chinese herbal medicine. A case report is included for illustration.
